20% Of U.S. Women Have Babies With Different Dads

20% Of U.S. Women Have Babies With Different Dads

Boston (SmartAboutHealth) – According to a new study, 20% of all women in the U.S. who have given birth to more than one baby had those children with two different biological fathers.

Multiple partner fertility, meaning giving birth with more than one biological father, or partner, was the focus of the presentation at the Population Association of America.

The idea was to focus on this topic to see just how many women had more than one biological father for their babies.

The study was led by Cassandra Dorius from the University of Michigan Institute of Social Research and focused on data from over 4,000 women over a period of 30 years from 1979 to 2009.

They were all between the age of 14 and 22 when the series of interviews began for the purpose of this study.

What researchers found is that 20% of all women in the U.S. gave birth to more than one child with a different biological father, multiple partner fertility is found to be very common in the U.S.

Researchers stated that they found that children born into this situation had disadvantages compared to other children.

They tend to spend less time together as a family, and mothers in this scenario tended to be less educated according to the study presented.

You know of my ex-wife, don't you? (who doesn't). 3 kids by 3 different dads. Not quite the same, but may as well be. Trifling hoe. - I was the first to take a whack at her and I now have an intelligent 13yr old that's looking to be a lady-killer soon. It just so happens that I am taking her ass to court over the summer to get custody of him soon because she's a complete goddamn flake. 3 years of detailed documentation and several teachers to testify should help my case.

Wish me luck! (you never know when it comes to the courts)

I didn't know you could have more than one biological father! Too much of..

Just happened to my buddy. 2 of his 3 kids are someone else's. He only found out because they were tested for a genetic condition. The whore has no idea who the other fathers are.

Happens all the time. That 20% they are talking about are the 20% that admit it.

Oh, and the best part, if he divorces her he still up for the child support. The government still sees them as his kids.

Who knows how valid the study is. We don't know what the sample consisted of. It says nothing about whether the 4000 women were from across multiple SES and education backgrounds. It could be higher than 20% in certain communities (i.e. blacks & hispanics), and less in other communities.

That sounds very low too me. Unless all the 20% of single mothers in the U.S. all live in my neighborhood.
The journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.
