The amount of effort that you put into the class directly correlates to your success in the course.

It is extremely rare that students do not succeed after attending EVERY class, actively participating in class, doing the optional/recommend work, and not procrastinating.

If you are still struggling, seek help. Don't get discouraged if your guidance counselor or professor aren't as helpful if you'd like them to be -- keep finding help until you get it.

For the most part though, especially in these lower level classes, if you show up and do what the professor expects from you, you'll be fine.

im going to be an RN so these are the required classes to get into a program
i understand that there is math involved in nursing like calculating dosages but im not bad with that type of math, its the semi-advanced algebra and geometry and shit

There's not really much math in biological science classes. Sure, there are some calculations, but nothing like physics or chemistry.

Are you going to have to take organic chemistry? It was required for pre-med and nursing students when I went (probably when you were in diapers). If so you're screwed.

the hardest part was the on hands on tests we had, the memorization was killer, you had to pull it all out of your head, no multiple choice, you either knew it or you didn't.

I took Anatomy & Physiology by correspondence while being in 5 classes. It was a nightmare, I learned to never take a correspondence course again.

I'm a great believer in luck and I find that the harder I work, the more I have of it.

Show up to class and just take notes and read them over and over, you are gonna learn every little part of cells, your hands, feet, ears, hormones, cardiovascular system, disease, organ placement and functions....not much math but a whole lot of memorization....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

my girl is on her last year at community college for nursing and is transferring to UNLV in the fall. she is getting back into school after dropping out of HS in '98. she is taking BIO 189 and it's kicking her ass a little. you just have to do the geek thing and sit in the front of the class, don't miss any classes, etc. and get yourself one of those digital recorders, taking notes during lectures doesn't work well for many.

    good luck!
