So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
    to improve their lives.

I have been contemplating getting out of here for the last couple years. It has nothing to do with communism or socialism, it has to do with corporatism, and it's ruining the country. If it weren't so cold in Canada I would already live there. Europe would be great since you get like 6 weeks vacation every year, Mexico is a non-starter because their medical system is shit. This past weekend I watched a guy drown in a pool down in Playa Del Carmen. When he came to he couldn't really talk (He actually passed out in the pool from drinking), but the paramedics refused to take him without an ID AND a credit card. They also had him in an arm bar submission trying to take his pulse.
If sense were common, everyone would have it.

Go to places like costa rica, panama or belize etc.which have excellent medical care and cheap. ( they have a national health insurance and doctors practice privately) Remember, even rush limbaugh wanted to go there for their excellent medical care. I am in the process of buying property in Belize or costa rica, ( I can by property overlooking the ocean in belize for half the price of what some chintzy McMansions ) in belize, english is the official language so I can technically continue to practice medicine but I am finally learning spanish.

He estado apprendiendo espanol por cinco meses usando una programma llamada Claro Inititiative. In other words, I plan on becoming proficient in a 7th language through a phenomenol course paid for by the AMA called the Claro inititiative ( it costs 3 grand) . Five hours a week on the computer and 1 hour of one on one skype tutorial with a native speaker doing only conversation for 10 months. They gaurantee 90% verbal fluency in 10 months.

These countries have many expats who are doctors like myself who have nothing but rave reviews for their quality of medical care.

Hmmm, just wikipedia'd it. Sounds like an awesome place, doesn't sound like a place where my services would fare very well in providing me cashflow.

Even in the age of telecommunication? Not sure what your profession is. I'm lucky since an American trained physician is universally highly coveted in most parts of the world.

I'm sort of a personal trainer, but more holisitic, I guess. My primary goal is to monitor and optimize autonomic nervous system tone to make my clients healthier, sick less, more energy, happy, stress-free, etc.. I also do tons of corrective exercise because I've found a pretty good correlation with poor posture and allostatic load. If you can think of a name for what I do that would be great, because I hate calling myself a personal trainer as I think it doesn't really describe what I do.

Illegal immigration has little to do with the prison population, which is largely black, and many of the incarcerated hispanics are actually American citizens.

Regardless, it has nothing to do with race, and everything to do with culture which is loosely approximated by race. There is a subculture in America that doesn't value education or hard work or self-reliance, and doesn't respect the institution of marriage or the criminal justice system. This subculture includes people from every race, albeit in different percentages. This is a phenomenon that we created by a welfare system which, up until about 1995, had no time limits for receipt of benefits and provided incentives for people to have children that they couldn't support. We turned the social safety net into a hammock, and then act surprised when people are content to lay in it indefinitely and leach off the productive segment of society. Our current President is on record saying he would have opposed Clinton's bipartisan welfare reform of 1995.

If you don't want to stay in America you can always move to Portugal...

Lo, there do I see my Mother

Lo, there do I see the line
Of my people back to the beginning..

Well, to become a european citizen and go to other places in Europe is a good move, but if it is to stay here, just don't do it for the next ten years because the shit is hitting the fan and this is all going down

You're a witch doctor, they love them down in South America.....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
