I'd move to the philippines or some other third world nation where my dollars would go far, I could hide my money, and retire. Socialism is evil.

    irish_2003,

What is your definition of "socialism?"

    Social Security?
    Medicare?
    Military Industrial Complex?
    Baling out Wall Street?

    Other examples?

where we're nothing but a country of programs and benefits.....everyone will be taxed until we roughly bring home the same amount regardless of occupation and then we're reliant on those gov't programs.....so kinda a combo of soc/communism i guess......basically where there's no real reward for being more than average

but obviously you're a liberal because you're answering my question with a question and not giving an answer

Irish we were socialist during the Viet Nam war and since our incarceration rate has surpassed China and Russia it's safe to say America is a Police State. Every Empire gets rich off exiles and then the rich politicians reverse the flow and parasitism collapses the economy. I'm on my way to Brazil, love my jiu jitsu and hemogenins with brazilian bikinis running around. I might be a board sponsor when I get down there lol

    I agree with you here.

It's just that your using the definition of "socialism" and "communism" from a model that does not exist anymore (except for 1 or 2 nations).

Have you read Das Kapital? Other works of communism.

Define these first, and even if you could, these terms are not applicable.

    but obviously you're a liberal
    No.

Go back and read my posts over the last 7 years. You will clearly realize that I am not .

look at my home country "communist china", what a joke, it is totalitarian government with unadulterated libertarian capitalism where you can pollute 60% of our water and make it undrinkable by aemrican standards, use child labor, pour lead into herbal drugs or prescription drugs ( no collective bargaining which is somewhat socialistic) all in the name of profit. move there if you don't want socialism, just don't throw around you are christian since the taiping rebellion has given them a severe case of PTSD about that religion.

Heck, if you are industrious and enterprising, you can make out like the robber baarons during the industrial age here. Only thing, you better learn our language........

If we're talking about the purist definitions of communism and socialism, I think I'd stay. My definition if socialism is that everyone gets what they need and everyone contributes, the commune mentality. If you don't contribute somehow, you're outta here. I could do that.

I would move south (Mexico or even further), something we have talked about for a few years, in fact we probably will eventually either way.

I like to think I am a citizen of the world, I don't get tied down with patriotism. I love the USA and think we have the best chance to bring the world together someday if we can get our shit back together. Many countries exist that I wouldn't dare to set foot in, but there are many more I could easily call home. I'd likely stay and have faith that we can always revolt and make change....Same thing I say about if Revelations did happen and all the good people get swept to heaven, I'd rather stay on Earth and fight to gain it back because I love this planet, why abandon it.

The only reason I would leave my home in Hawaii is if they tried to censor my writing or the US decided to give the Islands back to the Hawaiian Monarchy.

Monarchies, totalitarian regimes, fascism, the farce the Red Russians, Cuba or China called/call communism where everyone except for an elite few are peasants I would be dead living in those countries because I would get in so much trouble writing against them. I never have believed that any one person is born, nor can become better than any other man or woman. I would never bow before a king nor queen unless they are bowing to me Japanese style....

All men/women are created equal, even if one is smarter or richer doesn't place them above me nor anyone else. I do believe that a person can make themselves less by being a total evil useless cunt, but if you are a righteous person who lives by the golden rule then we are equal....

"I'm just a golden ruled man, in a gold ruled land"... Leo Maniacus

"In the land of milk and honey, swat the bee, slaughter the cow" also Leo Maniacus aka ManicLion

You're missing the reason that we have a prison population higher than China and Russia. They kill more of their prisoners (overtly and through neglect) than the US does. Plus, their laws are far more draconian and have higher penalties.

However, they are still the ones doing it correctly.

Ok never mind the extreme example, still 10 times higher than other industrialized democracies. Future historians will be redefining human traffickers and their melting pot.

"Minorities Make Up 60 Percent of Prison Population"

List of countries by incarceration rate(per 100,000 inhabitants).

    United States of America: 756
    Australia: 124.5
    Ireland: 101
    Iceland: 40

Percentage of population that is Caucasian (I gathered the first from Wikipedia and the last from the CIA World Fact Book):
    United States of America: 72%
    Australia: 90%
    Ireland: 99.2%
Iceland: descendants of Norse and Celts 94%, population of foreign origin 6% (they details of the foreign people aren't giving, but good luck finding a picture of Iceland where it isn't Caucasian only).

There is, at least, is a partial answer to the question of why prison rates are so high in the USA.

minorities make up the majority of prison populations simply because they commit the majority of crimes......and those who argue it's culturally accepted to act a certain way is guilty of promoting that behavior within those cultures....think Michael Vick and his crimes and past behaviors as an example

true, my home country has the highest rate of executions in the world, but remember china likes to incarcerate and torture and execute those pesky christians/missionaries, poet dissenters etc. as well. Not exactly right by american standards. Malaysia does it right by executing pedophiles and its zero drug tolerance ( executions unfortunately even for benign marijuana) means no drug problem,2nd offense dui is death so no dui, rapists are executed etc.

Minorities make up most of the prison because Americans would rather pay less for an illegal than an american that knows the employment laws. Add offshoring jobs and you start to see the character of a nation that doesnt change like the character of a man. Demographics were my specialty and Scandavian countries still have the best, even Minnesota where they are mostly. It's time for the barabarian hordes to loot the roman legions and their priests.

New Zealand has the second highest prison population per capita amongst developed countries, with 169 prisoners per 100,00 not sure why they are an outlier

So are the car thefts, murders, and rapes are the fault of people wanting to pay less? Really? That may explain why some of the minorities are here, but doesn't explain, or excuse their own individual choices. It's the minorities choice to commit the crimes, no one else's.

"In 2004, Maori made up just 15% of the total population but 49.5% of prisoners. Maori were entering prison at 8 times the rate of non-Maori." This doesn't even cover the Pacific Islanders or the Asians.

didn't know we asians were so prevalent, unfortunately in china there is very little racial differences in the prison population, tibetan independance fighter is not very different from Han political dissenters or mongol christian preacher who didn't get permission to lead a congregation,

Keep in mind that these are non-Americans using the term "Asian", so it could very well include Indians and others.

Some say suicide is a crime, so the people that jumped off a burning building on 9/11 are criminals? Thats what its like for some of these minorities who were sold, raped, and enslaved to get here. This song is for you:

Do you have anything to back this up in regards to meaningful numbers? It also needs to be from a credible source. I've already had the "modern slaves in America" discussion and tore that apart.

it was a mongol priest that converted my mom from buddism to catholicism, luckily, it didn't catch on with her three children or husband.
her buddist monk felt it would be a better religion for someone with obsessive compusive disease, he was right, there has to be a lot of inner peace with many sects of buddism. we have tried to contact him when we visit, unfortunately, I think he has been a victim of china's paranoi and has disappeared....

Just an FYI about myself, I grew up on the low end of the lower class. I routinely starved as a child and was on and off homeless. So I'm not talking about being poor as if I haven't been there.
So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
    to improve their lives.

Is your real name Jared Taylor?
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
