    iPhone 4

Who has one? How do you like it?

I'm thinking of getting one for somebody who isn't the most technically advanced person. How easy is it to use?

The main features I'm interested in is making calls, taking photos and texting. How do most like the keyboard function, is it something that takes time to get used to?

I'm just looking for general feedback. Any and all help is appreciated.

.........And yes the somebody is dead set on the iphone. I know the 5 is coming out soon but I'm looking to do this in the next week. Thanks.

It works just fine, I have the 4 on AT&T. Reception and call quality are not the best at time but all in all, it is a great phone. There are some better 4G phones on Verizon that are leaps and bounds better and WAY faster network, but it seems that is not an issue for the buyer.

I phone is the greatest techno gadget invented IMO. As far as ease of use let's just say my 56 year old dad got one and now sends me emails and pictures regularly lol. The apps are awesome and the fact that if someone sends you a text with an adress the phone recognizes it and if clicked on goes directly to the gps and gives you turn by turn directions. In short they are AWESOME.
This message was sent from an iPhone lol!

As far as being a retard about technology you'll be fine. I got this thing like 3 weeks ago and I didn't know shit about smartphones.

You'll be able to figure it out pretty quickly and be playing with it a lot the first few days.

I got mine through verizon as their data plan was unlimited.

I've got one, I love it, you'll never go back.

In a similar note, Apple are C*NTS. But you should still get the phone.

I love Android and not being told what I can put on my phone.

With that said, the iphone is probably the best choice in your situation.

I love mine, I read a lot while waiting so the crystal clear text on the retina display saves my eyes, I have read on it for hours and usually on my 3GS I'd feel eye strain and sometimes get a light headache not with the 4. Plus I use it to tune my guitar, works perfect, I used it to calculate the length of a roof once when I forgot the measuring tape, I've used the level and the compass many times, the map with traffic alerts tells me which route I should avoid when going or coming from work. I used to carry a pocket notebook with me everywhere now I just type in a note or record a voice memo on my Iphone...If it had a knife, phillips/flathead screw driver and little saw I'd leave my swiss army knife at home too....

Funny story, my dad used to tell me the phillips screw and driver driver was named after my Uncle Phillip. He would say Uncle Flip (the way I pronounced it) was a mechanic and a big drinker so when he would get to work sometimes he'd have trouble with flathead screws so one day he decided to punch a bunch of flathead screws with another slot to make an X and weld two small fins to the side of his flathead driver so he could save some knuckle meat.....
Of course when I asked my Mom if she knew Uncle Flip had invented the phillips screws and screw driver she said it was preposterous, man Mom was always ruining some of the best stories.....

I know allot of you are on the smartphone/data plan bandwagon, but I have still yet to bite the bullet. I still have a lame flip phone that would be cool 6 years ago. I cannot see the justification of the bloated data/smartphone charges each month just to have access to the net while on the go. I am not hooked on facebook or twatter - that shit just irritates me. I don't need to post a twat that I took a horsedump at 5:09am with x/y corrdinates. Nobody cares about your lives - it's just as mundane as the next joe.

My only prob with Apple is the fact hat they trickle out new features on each new generation just enough to hook you. I have the original iPad and thought the iPad2 was a joke without a revised screen. Thay had the ability to do it, but chose not to. That is lame any way you cut it - but smart on their part since there are many, many sheep lined up to buy every time a new generation is announced and purported to be 'magical'.

What's the hardest part about owning an iPhone?

    Coming out to your parents.
So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
    to improve their lives.

Phosphor, I agree. However, I do all of my work with my clients and most of my business on google, it just makes sense for me to do it. Plus, I love the Android OS. It isn't confined like Apple. You can jailbreak far more easier than Apple.
Facebook and Twitter are just meaningless ways for me to kill time as well as Angry Birds and some other games. But my scheduler, my documents, photos and anything else is on google. So, I get the added benefit of going from my Viewsonic G tablet (with Android) to my HTC g2 phone and have the capability to grab any file I need.

I like Evernote better, cause if I have my Ipad in a wifi deadzone or iphone on a plane I can still edit my documents offline if I tagged them for such....plus Google has been making too many drastic changes and a few of my files got reformatted, I have 4 chapters of a novel I am writing and now half of it reads like Yoda dictated it....
