I see if you are a premium user of safe-mail you can choose the higher security option that says
"StoragePlus account users have the option to protect their information with an even higher level of encryption. This renders their account content completely unreadable at any time by any person including all Safe-mail staff. In the very unlikely event that someone should obtain your account data by either subpoenaing Safe-mail to hand it over or have direct access to the server itself, no intelligible information could be extracted. And there is no way it can be decrypted. The one condition that may deter you from this extreme level of privacy is that should you loose or forget your password, it is technically impossible for Safe-mail to restore your account. It means all your data would be lost. You should also be aware that the password reminder mechanism is not active.
Please note there is no additional charge for this higher level of security."
Anyone have any thoughts on this if it is worth the upgrade or is it more just a false sense of security?
Just remember, "If they want you...they will get you."
However, if it gives you a sense of security, I would go for it.
I do know that some people still use safe-mail, among other paid email services. That or encryption technology like PGP.
