I've thought this myself for quite some time now. Incidents seem to be pointing in this direction, if this were to come out tomorrow, I don't think anyone would be too surprised. ( well, I wouldn't )

overshadowed by Bin Laden's death and the economy. I would like to see something "formal" released by some gov agency but I doubt that will happen.

I wonder who has been picking up the signal? so may sites around the globe with antenna arrays these days.

There most likely is some form of basic life out there somewhere but probably nothing as advanced as humans.

I agree, humans are probably the most evolved/advanced organisms in the Universe (multiverse, depending on who you ask) since primates came about only 65 million years ago, the Homo genus about 2.5 mya, and Homo sapiens coming about only about 300,000 years ago. There was probably no evolution or life developing in the 9-10 billion year gap between the estimated beginning of the Universe and the beginning of Earth.

Even if life started 8 billion years into the estimated life of the universe, that still gives extraterrestrial organisms about a 1 billion year head start on us. Imagine the scale of their evolution if you gave life say, another billion years to develop.

You must not have even looked into the gov. website or the info now spreading rapidly across the web.

There's an infinite number of planets out there, just because we can only see a few billion with the hubble space telescope, does not mean there's nothing out there.
Plus they have seen many planets which closely resemble earth's atmostphere.

And that's just common sense. Not to mention the math and the philosophy behind it.

I guess it isnt shocking if you understand drakes equation. Of course there is life but its highly unlikely we will ever make physical contact with these asian look a likes.

Drakes equation is a joke. I can come up with some random formula based on what I feel is relevant and plug a few numbers in it and pop something out of it lol.

I had a thread about a month ago about couple of other countries opening their secret files to public, call me crazy but something big is coming to our way and they are getting us ready for it.

this all smacks of hilarious hoax. Why would the NSA have alien information? Are they spying on space too?

Its impossible for any human mind to comprehend just how massive this Universe is. I feel that its laughable when people believe that we are the most advanced (or the only) intelligent lifeform in the entire Universe yet we haven't even explored any significant portion of our own galaxy let alone any of the the other 100 billion or more galaxies.
Besides that, as long as there is simple life on any particular planet it will inevitably lead to more complex forms of life as an arms race for energy sources will begin and some kind of evolution my natural selection will occur. Over time some simple forms of life will become much more complex if the environment is appropriate.
The Drake equation would be much more accurate in estimating the probablity of lifeforms than any other method. Its a guess but its a calculated one at that.


It is a typical human flaw to think that we are the pinacle of intelligence and/or beaten only by God.

I was a human in a few past lives, so imagine my surprise when my people told me they were going to re-encode my DNA and then transmit it with my soul to a human womans womb living on Earth.
