I 100% agree with this. Actually, I would like the Northeast to be separate from the South and midwest. Let's see how all of those principled, anti-gov't red states do without our funding. California should be it's own country.

the south would be 3rd world in months...I have noticed something about the standard "anti-poor" rhetoric coming from conservatives, they are always comparing their own economic success with others. so anyone that has not achieved what "they" have or greater is automatic deemed lazy and "wanting" to live of the gov teat.
