What're you gonna do walk around with them on all the time like some 1980's tough guy throwback, you gonna wear a mesh tank-top(purple) and have a leather bandana with a feather dangling from it, maybe a little greasy jheri curl wig would go nice....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

Build up callouses on your knuckles, and practice making your fist as tight as possible. When you get your fist dense enough the only thing you have to worry about is teeth digging into your knuckles, but thats what the callouses are for. Learn some Aikido so you don't have to punch unless absolutely necessary... And don't be afraid to finger jab or chop a guy in the throat, you stop their breath for even a short few seconds it's easy to put them in an arm lock and guide them to the door... I used to go to a bar every night with my best friend while we waited for his gf to finish with her tending shift. I would stand outside with the bouncers and show them moves I learned in Aikido and come back the next night and they'd be like giddy school children telling me the story of the guy they had kissing the nasty, sticky carpet with a simple wristlock I'd just taught them.

most useful thing I got from this thread was Mr GungHo's related video about the newspaper brass knuckles, I could see that being handy someday....
