I see nothing wrong with it, if the government has no issues why should he? After his winnings they just got almost $1 million in taxes from him, more than most people will pay in a lifetime.

That's how I view it, they can always change the rules if they want.

he only got $865,000 lump sum after taxes......in his defense, he DID call right away and inform the food stamp office of his winnings.....also he's in saginaw? or another hard hit michigan city....although i don't agree, i understand how people there can and would want whatever gov't handout they're eligible for at this point

Is this any different than the 300 pound black lady in front of me useing food stamps in the grocery store and then packing that shit into her brand new Escalade?

I'd be cashing in those stamps too if they took half of my winnings.

regardless of what side you are on it just goes to show that many in this country from the individual on up to the billion dollar multi-national corps ONLY do what is required of them by law.

I know you don't honestly believe that....do you know how weak minded a person would have to be to let themselves be influenced by a freaking song.

problems are never just caused by one single thing, it's always multiple factors. violence on TV and a nation always at war somewhere in the world. our society promotes if not encourages violence.

I pretty much stopped listening to the hardcore stuff right after NWA and all them came out. I just can not relate growing up in the burbs.

you can not single out just rap then, there are some pretty bad lyrics in a lot of heavy metal songs. to me it seems like the problems in the child were are already and they search out music that appeals to their behavior.

Nothing sad about a guy needing to eat, it is sad giving money for food to a guy who doesnt need help buying food.

I highly doubt this man's situation will make the world's economy any worse than it already is, a will be for awhile longer.

the million he paid in taxes is probably feeding him and 1000 other families. plus every dime of what he has left will be taxed too when he spends it. if he worked all his life he is getting a fraction back of what he has paid in.

So a retired American citizen that wins $2 million (a million clear) should no longer be eligible for the benefits he is rightfully due? Why should his winnings change anything?
