Oh shit I never saw the design for the new one before, it's fucking sweet looking. I want one of these! 0-60 in 5.5 seconds in a 100% electric car, and I think the roadster gets in 3.7secs.

they test drove one on Top Gear a couple of years ago...it was quick, but very unreliable!! broke down several

That is not a typo. Electric motors are designed for toque. Gas motors are designed for long distance and compact designs. That is why all modern trains use electric motors. the best is when youre dealing with electric motors you eliminate a 1500/2k pound combustible metal engine which makes the vehicle lighter. You wont lose power with the transfer of energy traveling through a bunch of gears to get to the wheels then to the pavement. Also means more space, more leg room, more people, or more storage space.
