you may want to brush up on the history of US and Syrian relations, we do not trade with them...the combined GDP of all US pro sports teams is more than theirs.

the US only goes to war to protect US interest, stop communism (so Democracy and Capitalism can spread) or show of powers, which hasn't always worked out so well in some cases and better in others.

First of all, I'm no fan of Obama. He sucks as a president. But...

The only reason we care about Syria is their close relationship with Iran, their facilitation of funneling weapons to Hezbollah (for Iran), and their shared border and border dispute with Israel.

All of this only affects Israel. So if it weren't for Israel, we wouldn't really care. So, in other words, this is Israel's problem, not ours.

Secondly, the right is always bitching "we are not the world's policeman", "fuck the UN" etc etc.

Now that Barry is in office, he gets criticized by the right because he's not going around cleaning up the world's mess enough? WTF? It's totally hypocritical.

And it's Bashar al-Assad. Fuck, at least know who you are talking about.

You'll also note our hypocritical stance towards countries we like, vs. countries we don't like.

We're happy to let the King of Bahrain shoot protesters in the streets because he lets us station our Fifth fleet there, and he is a friend of the US. We're not so inclined to look the other way when it's a non-friendly dictator.

I wish you guy's would read the documents that I post from the OECD and ILO, they explain everything that is going on in the US and why it does and doesn't matter who is POTUS. the less benefits the US gov gives out to it's citizens the less these company's are obligated to give out as they only have to follow the laws and regulations of the host country's per the ILO and OECD guidlines. to stay competitive with multinationals US company's align their pay and benefit structure to the multi & trans national corps, which is based on what the us gov gives. that is why there are no real "pay increases" any more only wage adjustments based on the CPI to cover the increase in the cost of living.

the OECD even states in it's last wage report that low wages in the US are are major problem and a new method of wage increases need to be used.

50% of the manufacturing for the military has even been shipped to the sweat shops on the US/Mexico border, the workers there get paid $5 a day, and India $2. Unless workers in the US are willing to work for these wages and live in tents these jobs are gone forever...

There is nothing the American potus can do.

Syria is a sovereign nation in a volatile region with Russia, Iran, Iraq, and other nations.

Also, there's no oil there, in Syria.

Agreed. I know my money buys less than even a few years ago. Even though I make "more" now. Cutting benefits to citizens solves nothing. Sometimes I think people are happier just staying ignorant about what is really going on. Ignorance is bliss, I guess.
