Thread: Where to buy a mattress?

Nah they are pretty expensive about twice as much as a normal mattress but I think they make knock off ones that are just as good for half the money.

Check out the reviews for mattresses on Amazon. That may give you a place to start.

And, ihateschoolmt is right. Don't get too caught up in brands. So long as you avoid the really cheap crap, you'll do okay.

You can get a pretty good deal on a Tempurpedic if you can pick one up on sale. I've had one for a number of years, and I think it was worth every penny. If you can get the same quality in a knock-off, that sounds like a good way to go. I've seen the knock-offs pretty cheap, but I don't know if they are any good or not.

Do NOT go to Sleepys!!! Very bad company to deal with. They advertise 10 year warranty on their mattress, I came back after 6 years and they gave me a list of things that voids that 10-year warranty. For one, if you get one smidgen of stain on it, the warranty is void. Who the fuck uses a bed and not put a stain on it?!?! Fuck that!

Got this one 2 months ago and it is awesome!! Wish we would have got years ago!! Paid $700 with free delivery!

haven't bought a mattress in a while, I rotate them out with the spare bedrooms. not sure what brand I bought cause I cut the tags off to see if the mattress police came.

was looking for mattresses when I moved to san jose, had no idea what to get..tested a couple out, feel asleep on one. the guy in the store woke me up about 30min later, that's the one I bought. pillow top that's all I know.

I definalty do not reccomend a Sleep Number bed. We had it one day and sent it back. They said we had to try it for 30 days. I told them I was packing it up, after a little conversation she agreed to let me send it back before the 30 days

Some hotel chain had these 5 years ago and after sleeping on them, I thought they were a joke myself.

Well since we are talking about shitty mattresses, I had a water bed when I was 10 and that shit was miserable.

If you live near a sleepy's go in there they have this machine that will tell you what kind of mattress you need and like. Also there are sleepy's clearance outlets, which you can get super cheap shit. We got a $2400 mattress for $450.00!! The reason was because when they went to deliver it to wherever the plastic on the mattress got ripped and was no longer able to be sold. There wasn't even a mark on it!! I am not complaining though, that is one hell of a discount!

Yard sale. The more stains it has the better the price is going to be!

We have a sleep # and love it. It was a bit pricy, but has a 20 year warranty, so figured that into the price. We were disappointed when we got it deliver to us in 8 different boxes and had to assemble it, but neither on of us have back issues anymore.

A buddy of mine, who has been a slob since HS, had to move back home so he had one big ass yard sale including a queen matress his two dogs slept on during the day in his spare bedroom....and had pissed all over. Sure as shit, some illegal Mexicans bought it.

There are plenty of good stores around, I got a great deal at Mattress Firm as I paid cash and told them this is all I will pay, make it happen. Well, I got a great King mattress that was on clearence for $550 delivered, it was on sale for $800. Also, look and see if there is a mattress warehouse or clearing house where they sell overstock, those tend to be a good place to stretch the dollar as long as they are reputable. Sams Club has great prices where i live

We got one for $1200, it's fucking thick, the whole bed comes up to above my tailbone. It keeps the short dogs we let stay in the bedroom during the day from jumping on there and having accidents, although we did leave the plastic on just in case(with a fluffy goose down comforter you don't even notice the plastic underneath). One off our dogs will drink water and then get excited and puke it back up without warning, scrubbing a mattress and then blow drying it right before bedtime sucks....

I have a queen pillow top. You can commit suicide by jumping off of it.

My last 2 mattresses have been pillow tops and great.



Also, there is no such thing as a no-reason-to-flip spring mattress regardless of what some sales hack/brochure says. Either flip it every 6mo or it will eventually sag.
