    This says it all, no matter your politics

    Alan Simpson, Senator from Wyoming , Co-Chair of Obama's deficit commission, calls senior citizens the Greediest Generation as he Compared "Social Security" to a Milk Cow with 310 million teats.

    Here's a response in a letter from a unknown farmer in Montana ....
    I think he is a little ticked off! He also tells it like it is !

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    "Hey Alan, let's get a few things straight..

    1. As a career politician, you have been on the public tit for FIFTY
    YEARS.

    2.. I have been paying Social Security taxes for 48 YEARS (since I was 15
    Years old. I am now 63).

    3. My Social Security payments, and those of millions of other
    Americans, were safely tucked away in an interest bearing account for
    Decades until you political pukes decided to raid the account and give
    OUR money to a bunch of zero ambition losers in return for votes, thus
    Bankrupting the system and turning Social Security into a Ponzi scheme
    That would have made Bernie Madoff proud.

    4. Recently, just like Lucy & Charlie Brown, you and your ilk pulled the
    Proverbial football away from millions of American seniors nearing
    Retirement and moved the goalposts for full retirement from age 65 to
    Age 67. NOW, you and your shill commission are proposing to move the
    Goalposts YET AGAIN.

    5. I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying into Medicare
    From Day One, and now you morons propose to change the rules of the
    Game.. Why? Because you idiots mismanaged other parts of the economy
    To such an extent that you need to steal money from Medicare to pay
    The bills.

    6. I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying income taxes our
    Entire lives, and now you propose to increase our taxes yet again. Why?
    Because you incompetent Idiots spent our money so profligately that
    You just kept on spending even after you ran out of money. Now, you come
    To the American taxpayers and say you need more to pay off YOUR debt.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    To add insult to injury, you label us "greedy" for calling on
    Your incompetence. Well, Captain Bull, I have a few questions for
    YOU.
    1. How much money have you earned from the American taxpayers during
    Your pathetic 50-year political career?
    2. At what age did you retire from your pathetic political career, and
    How much are you receiving in annual retirement benefits from the
    American taxpayers?
    3. How much do you pay for YOUR government provided health insurance?
    4. What cuts in YOUR retirement and healthcare benefits are you
    Proposing in your disgusting deficit reduction proposal, or, as usual,
    Have you exempted yourself and your political cronies?
    It is you, Captain Bull, and your political co-conspirators called
    Congress who are the "greedy" ones. It is you and your fellow nutcases
    Who have bankrupted America and stolen the American dream from
    Millions of loyal, patriotic taxpayers. And for what? Votes. That's right,
    Sir. You and yours have bankrupted America for the sole purpose of
    Advancing your pathetic political careers. You know it, we know it, and
    You know that we know it.
    And you can take that to the bank, you miserable Bum!
    The part in bold I have not heard of. I think it's innaccurate.
    The full benefits at 67 is for people born at a certain time (I've forgotten what years. In the late 1940s or 1950s, I think).
    I was born in 1970 and will get full benefits at 67, but I am not counting on it - and I am have not paid into Social Security for 10 years.
    Ponzi scheme it is. Medicare is worse.
    I assume this anonymous email was ghost written, but that's fine.
    How did you pull that off? Do you spend enough time out of the country that you don't have to pay SS and FICA?
    Social Security was created in 1935 by Franklin D. Roosevelt to help older folks over the age of 65. This was because of the Great Depression. The average American age was about 60 years old. Most was not able to get Social Security and the people that did get it only use it for a few years. Today the average age for Americans is about 77 years old and this is when all the baby boomers are retiring and getting Social Security. The problem is not enough money is in there to pay out Social Security check and the people will be receiving them for over 12 years.
    I'm 28 years old and have to pay Social Security which I know it will be gone when I hit 65 years old. Sucks because I will be putting into something that I will never get. So yes the old folks are greedy assholes.
    Why get mad at those old people? They fought for this country and paid their fare share of tax.
    Social Security is a part of our society whether we like it or not, it is a huge financial burden but privatizing it and giving people control of their money put aside is a much better plan IMO. I would rather squander away my money in the financial market and be mad at myself then have the government blow it by paying for a bunch of stupid programs I see no benefit from.
    Yes.
    I have not worked in the US for the past 10 years.
    Therefore, I haven't paid into the Ponzi scheme.
    As you know (I think) once you have an SS number it's the law: you have to pay into SS.
    Getting a number is not mandatory - but once you have one, they 6.5% of your money = 6.5% of your employers.
    To the....Ponzi scheme....that will NOT pay off for you.
    No.
    They never fought for this country.
    They were born between 1946 and 1964.
    What they are receiving is waaaaay over what they have paid in.
    On a side note: wars? What wars? WWII ended in August of 1945.
    Privatizing something doesn't make it cheaper, I have no idea where people come up with that. You are paying the company profit on top of all of the work that goes in to providing the program. The program either costs more or the services are of lower quality when you privatize something, always.
    As for privatizing something like SS. What happens if the company providing the service can't afford to pay out? What happens if that company goes tits up? Something needs to be done with medicare and SS, privatization is not it.
    If sense were common, everyone would have it.
    I want my SS back now cause there is no way, with the way I live, that I'm gonna make it to 62 let alone 75 which is where the retirement age will be by the time people my age get up there.....
    Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
    not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
    and drag down the features of age,
    no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
    no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
    but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
    I love when people bitch that "they deserve their SS payments." No one ever pays in anything close to what they receive in benefits. SS is the ultimate scam based on someone elses wages.
    Its like somone bitching that the rich don't pay their fair share. We pay our share, your share, and your welfare collecting baby mama's share.
