It`s the best line up of strong fighters ( other than Musashi, the token Japanese dude that will die in the first round
) they have had for ages....anyone of them could pull it off.I don`t really mind who wins, but I`d like to see Ray pull it off ( front left 9 or Mark again ( centre blonde ) ![]() Fuck I`m excited ![]() Last edited by kuso : 12-03-2002 at 07:29 AM. |

The other funny thing about Musashi, is about 75% of those fights he won, were against SMALLER JAPANESE dudes. Watch for a trickle of piss running down his leg as he entres the ring

Yeah I sw it, but I must say, the fucked up rules kinda ruined it I think....they should fight either one way or the other, not some stupid mix of the two.
That being said......it was fucking great ![]() |

Good stuff
![]() The Japanese and international media have assembled, the fighters are here, the Tokyo Dome is sold out, and the fans are anxiously counting down the hours to the first bell -- all systems are 'Go' for the K-1 World Grand Prix 2002 Final. At the New Takanawa Hotel press conference on December 6, this year's finalists -- Ray Sefo, Peter Aerts, Bob Sapp, Ernesto Hoost, Stefan Leko, Mark Hunt, Jerome LeBanner and Musashi -- all pledged to give their utmost in pursuit of the martial arts' world's most prestigious title. After a review of the recent rule revisions limiting clinching, big bad Bob Sapp offered up one of his trademark displays of pre-fight pugnacity, elbowing first-fight opponent Ernesto Hoost off the pedestal the two were meant to share for their photo opportunity. Hoost was unfazed, but when Sapp then took things one step further and marched toward the three-time World GP Champion, threatening, "I'll knock you out right now," Jan "The Giant" Norte climbed onto the stage to restrain his fellow behemoth. "Sapp's like a big kid," said the South African scrapper-turned-peacemaker about the incident, which will most certainly be splashed across the front pages of the Japanese sports papers on fight day. Everyone looked fit, focused and ready, not surprising considering there is a first prize of US$500,000 on the line for this, the tenth anniversary K-1 World GP Final. |

Well, I`m not a happy camper to say the least.
First up, Sefo fought a fight like only Ray can. Beat Aerts on points but got some heavy leg damage in the process. Next was Hoost vs Sapp, this was a reply of the qualifier where Hoost had his ass handed to him, and therefor should NOT have even been in this K-1, but with some creative BS, helped by another fighters injury, he got a place. He started of well, landed some heavy legs, and downed Sapp with some body blows....Sapp came back in the second to knock Hoosts head clean off once, which he recoverd from, only the be thrown into the corner and POUNDED til the ref stopped it, game over, Sapp wins, AGAIN!!! Next is Hunt and Leko.......Leko is very impressive, hits and moves and even mixes it up, lands some massive leg kicks and is ahead on points in the last round when Hunt shifts into second and switches his fucking lights off with a single punch. Leko gets up say he`s fine, walks to the corner and falls over again......bye bye Leko. Though Hunt does have purple legs now from bruises. Then LeBanner vs Musashi.....Musashi comes out fighting, which surprised everyone including LeBanner who I think expected him to lay down and not get hurt. He even drew first blood from LeBanners nose....that woke LB up and he SLAMMED him on the bell and Musashi needed to use the ropes to walk back to the corner.........next round he got his ass handed to him and the corner finally threw in the towel.....Musashi played up that he could still fight, but you could see the relief in his eyes. That concludes round 1 Round two is when things start to fall apart and get fucked over. First up Sapp broke his hand beating the shit out of Hoosts head, so they announce Hoost to go on as the loser must advance in the case of the winner not being able to in K-1....funny that should use this rule NOW when if they had used it last time Hoost wouldn`t even be in the fucking GP, as the dude that cancelled due to injury beat Mike McDonald...so McD SHOULD have been fighting. Anyway, this is a blow for sefo as Hoost has great leg kicks, and his are already fucked from Aerts..........didn`t make any difference finally though, as about 1 minute into the first round Sefo threw a huge leg kick, which was blocked by Hoosts knee, and looks like it broke Sefo`s leg...he`s out! Next was WWIV between Hunt and Lebanner.........great fight with both of them going balls to the wall......Hunt went down to leg kicks in the second, his legs looked FUCKED they were so purple, and the just before the end of the final, he put LB on his ass with a great punch. Points win to LeBanner, but one of the best fights of the night. Finally LeBanner makes it to a final.............he and Hoost mix it up.....second or third round though, Hoost gets a yellow card for too much holding......LeBanner changes gears again, starts things moving, and goes to block a body kick from Hoost that hits him kind of under the elbow, power going up....the dude was in PAIN walking around in circles, but didn`t throw it in....they started again, and he got kicked there again, and went down....Stood up and Hoost kneed him in the arm and he was fucked. Reports are that it was either broken or dislocated. So Hoost is the winner. Now for the recap. Hoost LOST his qualifier for this so shouldn`t have been there......Hoost LOST his first match and had his ass and a quart of his blood handed to him. Sefo injures himself and the fight is stopped. LeBanner cops a freaky kick, breaks his arm and the fight is stopped. So, Hoost lost two fights, and two fighters got injuries, and he the fucking 2002 champ.....Give me a fucking break ![]() |
