I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

How? We're going to crash and burn the same way Europe is now, by drowning in entitlement programs that we can't afford to pay for either.

while US corps pulled in almost 2T in profits last year but only payed 5% in taxes on those profits. that could be part of the problem ya think? 90B out of almost 2T. no wonder the US has the lions share of Global 500 company's.
the inability for nations to afford entitlements all has to do with the decreasing share or income going to labor across all OECD countries and the falling GDP's of all OECD countries that has occurred since 1980. the constant decrease in taxes on capital since then probably hasn't helped either.

Yes, look at GE. $5B in profits and zero taxes last year. It's not just fortune 500s that get out of paying taxes. When I was a banker, I saw wealthy individuals and small to mid-sized businesses using all kinds of tricks to get out of paying taxes. You can buy land and "reserve it" for a special use down the road and use it for a tax deduction. I knew a real estate developer that made millions year after year (not anymore obviously) and paid an average tax rate of 9% at that time.
It is rampant. That's one of the reasons I believe a pure consumption based tax system could be the way to go. There would be no loopholes. After all, corporations don't pay taxes anyway, regardless of the corp tax rate. You and I pay those for them.
