The way everything done in this country is completely bass ackwards. Honestly, I am going to enjoy every second of our economy tanking. And it will tank, it's only a matter of time. I'm even willing to vote for whichever republican is nominated just to speed up the process. Until this country falls flat on it's face, it will never rise up again. Our kids are stupid, our people are fat, and in a couple of decades we'll all be speaking mandarin. I wouldnt even mind learning mandarin if i didnt have to also learn an entire alphabet as well. If only Canada were in a warmer climate, I'd be living there now. Norway would be another good option.

I heard they have a waiting list. I've heard a lot of complaints about them.

Yes, I am very negative towards the US.

I think out sentiments are shared by tens of millions.

Nobody is buying anything, no one can afford medical care, are kids are literally retarded, and the way to fix all of this is to cut spending in all of these areas. The healthcare thing is, imo, a very easy fix, but it will never happen. You would have to charge people who do things that endanger their health more money for healthcare, unfortunately the things that people would need to avoid are very much an important part of our economy. Case in point, McDonalds hired 50k workers, and a significant number of people who eat at McDonalds routinely are who we are all paying fo wrt healthcare. As for the schools, yes, the teacher's unions are corrupt. I say break them up and pay teachers more, what is happening is they are breaking up the unions, but do you really think that's going to lead to improve education when coupled with cutting the amount of money going to schools? The economy doesn't pick up until the middle class starts making money, and the direction the gov't is going will not lead to a stronger middle class, it will weaken it. You are agnostic so there is at least a moderate amount of intelligence in you. Give me 1 instance where trickle-down economics has worked. You can;t because it never has. So, I wouldn't say I am rooting for the US to fail, I am rooting for these policies to fail, and they will. Kind of the same as if I were to drop a ball off a building, I would like to see it hit the ground because that is what it's supposed to do. If a republican gets in, cuts taxes like the Pawlenty plan, guts the schools and fucks with healthcare, I can't wait to watch that ball hit the ground so we can get on to things that actually work. But, I would move to either of those countries in a second right now. You can't live your life through debt and servitude, and few, if any, Americans realize this.

I have to talk to his sister today and get the low down. since the crash last week he's had 3 strokes so his right arm is basically useless right now, that's the problem. they mentioned something about rehab for the right not being available for some reason.

he has been going to the VA for treatment for his colon cancer. but I doubt I will get any info from his case worker there.

one of my buddies a 55 year old ex-marine was laid off from my gf's business a couple of years ago, coincidentally right after he was diagnosed with colon cancer. he has not been able to find work since, as the company (SCI) has a monopoly on the mortuary business in the US.

For starters, Sub par treatment both medically & humanely. Most Dr.s that treated me in the V.A. were foreigners (I'm not xenophobic, but come on).
Too much Gov. red tape. The Dr's are fresh out of school, You see 3 different Dr.s for the same thing, and you get three different opinions.
They didn't properly diagnose my PTSD, and if you can't get the V.A. to diagnose you for simple PTSD, what good are they for?

It is needless to say, but, I no longer visit the V.A. when I need treatment!

It's actually increased a lot. My family works for a living. (I know I know, the poor work too.)

It's also allowed my siblings and I to obtain advanced degrees.

Well I do have some good news. the gf called the old owner of the company and he has pledged to help out this ex-employee...

I now have to take back everything I said about the guy when he pocketed 250mil from the sale of the company and gave out no bonuses to the managers...

I have called 2 colonel's and an admiral regarding this as well, so I'm pretty sure the VA is going to be getting many a phone call about my friend Chuck and this non-service related accident.

Good to hear he is doing better and in good spirits. A positive attitude is huge in making strides towards one's recovery.

I have to agree with the "commies." From my own perspective, this country is the worst AFA being family-friendly. Most European countries pay women at least part of their pay when on maternity leave. Women (or the men who choose to stay home if the mother returns work) are paid to take care of their children for the first 6 months, or a year. Their jobs are guaranteed to be there for them when they return. Childcare is cheap or provided, or provisions are made for families with one partner staying home to raise children.

Not so here. Mothers are given MAYBE 6 weeks if they're lucky, MAYBE get a portion of their pay, and I know a number of women whose jobs were taken while they were out on maternity leave. Workers who try to leave on time for their children's activities are looked down upon, as if they're lesser than singles or workers without children who are willing to stay extra hours. And the cost of daycare is so exorbitant as to make it impossible for many families.

That's just from a mom's perspective. Healthcare? I have a friend in Germany who has access to excellent doctors, he doesn't wait 8 hours in an ER, he gets referred to doctors who can take care of the issues in question immediately. Their "socialist" medicine is ranked well above ours.

You can't tell me this country isn't going to crash and burn at some point in some manner. It'll happen. I'm just wondering how.
