Yemen says ship released, missile cargo headed for its port

“SAN'A, Yemen – The U.S. Navy released the shipment of North Korean-made Scud missiles it seized, sending the vessel and its cargo Wednesday on their way to the original destination of Yemen, foreign ministry officials said.”

“the unflagged vessel was carrying 15 scud missiles hidden in a cargo of cement.”

"The weapons contained in the shipment were to be used for defensive purposes as Yemen has no aggressive intentions toward any country”

“Yemen, Bin Laden's ancestral homeland, is a hotbed for al-Qaeda and other Muslim extremist militants who take refuge in the country's tribal strongholds.”



If it's a legit transaction between two countries, then why an unflagged vessel and hidden under a cargo of cement? If you were a country who is supposed to be in "good faith" with the US, why are you buying SCUDS from N. Korea and try to hide it?

In my opinion, the US had intelegence on this shipment. And would not release it unless they knew why they were going to use them. I suspect this is not the last of this incedent that we'll hear.

Nah, the way I see it is we keep tracking the shipment, then when it gets to it's final 'defensive' (al-Qaeda) destination, we use it as a blasting cap of sorts by launching a Tomahawk at it...they'll blow up REAL good!
