I can't believe this is even being considered.

Almost the same amount of bags are going to end up at the dump, but now people must spend more money to get them.
Oh my point was that the plastic bag problem isn't some random, whacky San Francisco invention that came out of nowhere. You can criticize their solution to that problem by banning plastic bags altogether, but I don't really think that you can cite it as some whacky off-the-wall San Francisco thing. Banning plastic bags has actually worked quite well (where enforced) throughout the world.

Having said that, I don't really buy your criticism of the ban. I'd love to see some data supporting what you're saying. Most of the studies that I've seen, where the ban has been enforced, has been ruled a success. What is particularly interesting is the effect it has on ordinary people. It essentially forces them to think about being less wasteful every time that they go to the supermarket.

All of my dogs have been either abandoned or shelter finds. Of the three I have right now, two were abused by former owners. Anyone that abuses an animal is lower than low. The real issue is that people that beat and abuse animals are only one step away from doing the same to kids or the elderly.

A few years back my wife and I were coming out of a theater. When we see three punks kicking a puppy like a football around the parking lot. I gave one a demonstration of what it felt like to be kicked really hard and the other two were given a hard lesson in civilized behavior. We took and kept the puppy. The dog is still with us, he is 13 year old now.

i dont agree with the sale of pets but i think its crazy for the government to be wasting money and time on a bill to outlaw it. there are more urgent issues in this day and age.
