    My uncle drives a 1970ish diesel Volvo that has almost 400,000 miles on the original engine. I rode with him once, and I was amazed by how smooth of a ride a car that old could provide.

    But, he is also a mechanical genius like my grandfather was, so who knows how much maintenance and nigger rigging he did on it over the years.
