    The UN Is A Joke

    Original Article

The UN has appointed North Korea the Chair of the Disarmament Committee. For those of you that don't know, that the committee's goal is:

The Conference on Disarmament, where UN members negotiate disarmament and other arms control agreements, is heavily focused on the prevention of a nuclear arms race and nuclear disarmament.
The UN put North Korea in charge of that group.

I know the Chair is on rotation, but for fuck's sake, that's a joke.
So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
    to improve their lives.

Fucking retards I swear, it is the biggest joke orginization that does almost nothing constructive. Countries horse trade for votes over the stupidest issues and things like fishing restrictions and trade are left untouched... real smart people.

Keep in mind that they're also the organization that put China on the Human Rights Council. You know, the country that harvests organs from their prisoners.

They're a parody of what they should have been.

This is also the same organization that appointed Libya as the Chair of the Human Rights Committee and booted the US from the same Committee. It's not meant to be taken seriously. If Nazi Germany still existed, it would also have a shot at chairing any of these committees. The UN serves no purpose.

The US should seriously withdraw it's membership, cut off all funding, and charge rent for the use of property in NYC.

do you really want to get into how conservative economic policies have ruined the US economy and tanked the deficit?

Yes, our economic policies are why the UN is mostly a joke of an organization and have been since its inception.

Roosevelt had a good idea when the UN was first started, it had a specific purpose. With the fall of the USSR, communism across the globe, etc. that enemy was defeated long ago but the new one is much worst

You realize of couse you and I will never agree on this issue, right? It was and still is liberal policies that are destroying our economy. Spending more than you take in is NOT the way to run a country.

I disagree. I believe politicians, lobbyist, and corporations regardless of political affiliation are destroying our economy. Democrats and republicans simply use different methods to completely fuck shit up.

Oh yeah, l the UN is worthless. They are too busy trying to coverup the human rights violations of the UN itself to pay any attention to the violations of others.

Hey, hey, hey. I don't like the way you're the UN short like that. Don't forget the financial scandals. Such as when the--then--Secretary-General, Kofi Annan's son stole millions from the Oil for Food program, and dear old dad swept it under the rug.

    Jagbender's battle of the bulge
The problems we face today are because the people who work for a living are outnumbered by the people who vote for a living

you do know there are vast difference between social and economic liberalism...I could write a dissertation on this topic but will spare everyone.

read the ILO Global Wage Reports from 2008/9 and 2010/11 then read IMF working paper WP/06/294. try to find one good effect of the reduction of unionization in the US and increased privatization on GDP and the national share of income that goes to labor. try to find one paper from an economists anywhere in the world that shows a positive effect on the standard of living as a result of these policies. I've read hundreds there are none. the IMF even recommends developing countries to NOT follow the US model of labor practices and wages as the CPI is ineffective and outdated.

ending the welfare state is easy, you pay people more and the people at the top won't be "as" wealthy. the ILO states that the minimum wage should be based off the median household income.

the concentration of wealth causes periodic economic bubbles, this is the end result of too few having far too much and few ways to invest in a productive manner . it's the cause of the last 2 recessions and will be the cause of each future recession until wages are more inline with the real costs of goods and services.

entitlements are not the cause of the deficit so they will show not to be the solution, only another temporary fix. just like opening up credit markets in the was the fix for low wages.

No, that I agree with. harvesting organs from prisoners is a good idea. DOMS think of the potential here. How many illegal mexicans do we have in our prisons? that way instead of just killing them like texas does we can get something out of them first.

I often drop words when I write. I see the sentence in my head rather than how it appears on paper or the computer screen. It caused me quite a bit of red ink in college if I didn't take the time to proofread multiple times.
