Your Cell Phone Provider & Plan

So here's the deal. I'm not your average cell phone user. I rarely make phone calls and send maybe 10 texts per month. I have US Cellular as my provider and don't have texting in my plan. It's cheaper for me to pay by the text instead of an unlimited plan. Once in a great while I think it'll be handy if I had internet on my phone, like when I'm in the car and my GPS can't find a store that I know is there. I could just hop on the internet, check the store's webpage and get their address for my GPS. That would be about it. I may visit 5 pages a month.

I'm up for a plan change. I may stay with US Cellular, but have looked into Verizon. The family plan with unlimited talk and text for both my wife and I would be $100 and data would be extra. It looks like maybe another $30 per month for a basic internet plan.

I was wondering what plans you guys have and what you pay per month for that plan?

Go to Walmart and buy a pay as you go "burner" phone. I think my brother pays $40/mo for phone, txt and net on a wannabe Blackberry looking phone.

The funny thing with him is he's a $80K/yr Sr. Systems Admin jew who is tighter than a fish pussy. He just won't pay a $100/mo.

    Did I mention he's a cheap jew?

I don't live in the US, but here's my situation:

I bought samsung mobile phone for $23 dollars.

About every 3-4 months, I buy a scratch card, and has a code to put another 3-4 months of calls and text message credits it. It costs about $5.

    No contracts.

The concept of a cell phone "contract" is ridiculous to me. My friends have signed 2 year deal with these shitty cell phone companies.

    What a scam.

My iphone, when I was paying the bill, cost me $125 a month on the old unlimited data deal with AT&T. It is stupid expensive on AT&T, avoid them and get a Verizon phone, the 4G network is the fastest in the nation by two fold. Even if you rarely use data but want it, go this route as you will future proof yourself for multiple years. I hate the contracts as much as anyone, but 90% of us are stuck with that route (assuming the rest get pay as you go).

Verizon works well for us. Tried a few others, and had some problems with coverage. I don't use my phone as anything but a phone, so I can't comment on any features than that. We pay just under 70 bucks a month for 900 shared minutes and nothing else.

I encourage all of you iphone customers to leave ATT and go to Verizon. That way the Verizon network becomes slow as fuck and ATT's frees the fuck up.

3 iPhones with unlimited everything I don't know what the cost is but with 2 women who talk and text nonstop it's better than paying for 2000 text msgs over the limit... Plus I use my phone on the net for a lot of stuff especially if I'm on a consultation job in the field making $100 an hour and need to check the NEC codes or something it all pays for itself really....
