Did not like the sneak preview. I feel it's going to be disappointing....I really believe the original can''t be topped.

The new movie in a re-booted franchise will feature a fresh all-star cast and storyline. Instead of living with his great aunt, the film will tell the story of a younger Peter Parker adapting to life after being abandoned by his parents.

In the latest adaptation Peter Parker will be portrayed by Andrew Garfield, the breakout co-star in the 2010 film Social Network. Parker’s faithful Aunt May and Uncle Ben will be played by Sally Field and Martin Sheen.

Instead of a love interest named Mary Jane, Parker will pursue Gwen Stacy played by Emma Stone in the latest film. The Lizard will take over as the movie’s villain and will be played by Rhys Ifans.

I was hoping they kept Dylan Baker.

    Should be an upgrade.

And I've prayed for Tobey Maguire's demise ever since...

SDCC '11: See Andrew Garfield Give An Incredibly Passionate Speech About Playing Spider-Man

Check out this video from the Sony Panel at Comic-Con where Andrew Garfield pops on stage in a Spider-Man costume to the delight of the fans. The ensuing speech is not to be missed.

Hollywood is truly lacking original ideas. Remaking a movie series only four years after the last installment? Wtf???

I like Tobey, I would blame the director for making him look stupid.

No fucking doubt. The first movie in the last run came out in 2002. They're rebooting a franchise that's 9 years old.

You redo a movie or TV show when technology has significantly changed (War of the Worlds) or when the rules around what you're allowed to show have significantly change (Battlestar Galactica).

There's no way that I'm watching that shit.

Blame the writers, too. The second and third movies blow.

And why the hell does he have spider silk come from his neck? Spiders make silk from their asses.

He's mutated and grown an ass-neck? WTF?

    If I recall correctly:

In the comics Parker's condition was unstable so he went to Dr. Connors for help. There were more obvious side effects like extra arms, claws, eyes, and fangs in the animated series. A nipple on his neck is minor.

Of course Doc Connors uses his resulting research to become a reptile.

The Amazing Spider-Man Reshoots Further Showcase Rhys Ifans' Transformation!

The Amazing Spider-Man Reshoots Further Showcase Rhys Ifans' Transformation!

After a new batch of set photos were revealed last night, yet another image of RhysIfans as Curt Connors has surfaced and it shows his regenerated hand looking very gruesome indeed...
In the photos posted last night (you can find them HERE) we caught a glimpse of Rhys Ifans wearing some sort of strange glove on his hand. While many assumed this was perhaps a prosthetic of some sort for the character, a closer image from the reshoots currently taking place courtesy of Mail Online reveals that it is fact a part of his transformation into the Lizard. Just like in the comicbooks, Connors clearly succeeds in regrowing his missing limb, but this seemingly starts to go wrong as we can see below.

Whether this is his hand regrowing after the experiment or the beginning of him turning into the Lizard isn't clear at this point. However, with Andrew Garfield also spotted on set in a makeshift costume (with web shooters) it seems that their stories will run parallel throughout The Amazing Spider-Man.

They need to make a new more badass Spawn movie or just fucking die!
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

I wouldn't mind seeing another spawn movie. It was one of my favorite movies as a kid.

Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are dating! A real life Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy

But with Emma's red hair it looks more like Peter Parker and Mary Jane. merrillmind - 1/25/2012

I came across something that people here might find interesting it appears Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are dating. The pics below are from this month on Jan 8th in NYC. Kind of surreal huh? Without the trademark golden locks of Gwen Stacy Emma resembles Mary Jane just having a nice time out with Peter inbetween protecting the streets of NYC.
