    Bradley Cooper Talks Paradise Lost!

    Bradley Cooper Talks Paradise Lost!

The actor who will portray Lucifer in the upcoming adaptation of the classic epic talks about when filming begins, as well as praising director Alex Proyas...
Speaking to Bleeding Cool, BradleyCooper - who will play Lucifer in Alex Proyas' upcoming adaptation of the classic epic, Paradise Lost - confirms that filming will start in January, and that they've been working on motion capture tests all week. He also mentioned one scene concerning his character, so a mild spoiler warning on that.

We’ve been doing motion capture tests all of this week. It’s full on, the deals are done. We’re testing out different rigs. We did this one scene where Lucifer lands and talks to the minions. Alex Proyas is wonderful… it’s exciting. We start shooting in January. I can’t wait. It’s been such a long time… I remember on the A-Team tour we were here and met Ralph Fiennes. We were talking and he said “Want do you want to do?” and I said “There’s this project, Paradise Lost, and all I want to do is play the devil” and he said to me “You’re going to do it.”

Benjamin Walker In Talks To Play Archangel Michael In Paradise Lost

Benjamin Walker In Talks To Play Archangel Michael In Paradise Lost

Benjamin Walker who is playing Abraham Lincoln in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is closing in on another major role. See what director Alex Proyas has to say about Benjamin.
Most of you will remember that Benjamin was actually attached to play Beast in X-Men: First Class, but he was deemed too old and the role went to NicholasHoult. I can't say that I've seen any of his performances. On his resume are minor roles in Flags of Our Fathers and Kinsey. I'm sure he'll be more of a household name once his Abraham Lincoln vampire movie debuts.

I will add that I think BradleyCooper will make an excellent devil. His performance in Limitless was marvelous, he added multiple layers to a role that most actors would've played two-dimensional. I predict that he'll be my favorite featured film version of satan, move out of the way Pacino.

Plot - After being cast out of Heaven, Lucifer mounts an army that battles the forces of good, and the film will have cutting-edge visual effects that will make these battles resemble 300 meets LordoftheRings -- but with winged warriors.

Legendary Pictures is negotiating with Benjamin Walker to play the archangel Michael in Paradise Lost.

    Quotes from Director Alex Proyas
"His deal isn't closed yet, but I think there's a wonderful duality about Ben's persona, this combination of great strength and perfect innocence that works so well for Michael. And Bradley is the most charming guy you'll ever meet, with this extraordinary charisma. Lucifer was the brightest and smartest of the archangels, and even as he descended into evil and evolved into Satan, he's not just some black-and-white villain. Bradley brings extraordinary depth to that journey."

"It's not just armies battling in an epic war. This is an adventure about the origins of good and evil after Lucifer's rebellion gets him cast out of Heaven and leads to a struggle with his brother archangel over the soul of mankind, starting with Adam and Eve.

It's a family saga, about a group of brothers, two in particular, who are on divergent paths, and Lucifer's feelings of betrayal by his father and family that forge his descent into evil."

Paradise Lost is expected in theaters at the end of 2013.</B itxtHarvested="0" itxtNodeId="89">

Archangel Uriel Cast In Paradise Lost

Archangel Uriel Cast In Paradise Lost

I Am Number Four actor Callan McAuliffe has joined the impressive cast of Alex Proyas' adaptation of Milton's classic poem as Uriel, one of the Archangels who sides with Michael against Lucifer..
Variety have yet another Paradise Lost exclusive. They report that young Callan McAuliffe has joined BradleyCooper, Ben Walker, CaseyAffleck and Djimon Hounsou in Alex Proyas' upcoming epic..

McAuliffe will play Uriel, one of the first seven archangels created by God. When Lucifer (Cooper) rebels against God and Michael (Walker) is named commander of Heaven's army, the dedicated soldier Uriel becomes his second in command.

McAuliffe, 16, most recently appeared in the fairly awful I Am Number Four and is currently shooting Baz Luhrmann's 3D adaptation of The Great Gatsby. The cast for this one has really been coming together recently with most of the major roles now being filled. Still unconfirmed are Diego Boneta as Adam and Camilla Belle as Eve.

Lucifer and Michael, God's greatest archangels, share the bond of extraordinary friendship until God produces his greatest creation: Man. Unable to remain subservient to God if it means bowing down to humanity, Lucifer begins his dark descent and is cast out - only to plot his revenge.

UPDATE: Dominic Purcell Joins The Cast Of Paradise Lost!

Dominic Purcell Joins The Cast Of Paradise Lost!
The Prison Break actor has been confirmed to be the latest addition to the upcoming Alex Proyas film, based on the classic epic poem by John Milton. Updated with info on Purcell's role in the film.
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Dominic Purcell - who's best known for his roles in Blade: Trinity and the TV series Prison Break - has been cast in the upcoming film Paradise Lost, directed by Alex Proyas and based on the epic poem by John Milton. The actor joins previously announced actors such as BradleyCooper (Lucifer), Djimon Hounsou (Angel Of Death), and Casey Affleck (Gabriel) in the much anticipated flick.

Dominic Purcell has been cast in Warner Bros.' Paradise Lost. Alex Proyas is directing the action fantasy film, which stars Bradley Cooper, Casey Affleck, Djimon Hounsou, Ben Walker, Camilla Belle and Callan McAuliffe.

Who do you think Purcell should play in the film? He seems like someone who can easily play a servant of Satan IMO, but who knows? Be sure to sound off your thoughts below in the usual place.

UPDATE: Thanks to Coming Soon, we now know that Purcell will be playing Moloch, 'a former angel who, after falling, sides with Lucifer in the battle against heaven.' Many thanks to CBM user TheDarkHorner for the headsup.

Paradise Lost hits theaters near the end of 2013!

He would be good as Lucifer, he has a dark look to him...more than Brad Cooper...
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

Sam Reid To Play 'Raphael' In Paradise Lost!

Variety is reporting that Sam Reid - who's starring in the upcoming Roland Emmerich film Anonymous - is the latest actor to join Paradise Lost, Alex Proyas' upcoming film based on the John Milton epic poem. Reid will play Raphael, one of the lesser quartet of archangels beneath Lucifer (Bradley Cooper), Michael (Benjamin Walker) and Gabriel (Casey Affleck). Ever the skeptic, he warns Michael against trusting that Lucifer can be redeemed.

Bradley Cooper On Playing Lucifer In PARADISE LOST & Turning Down THE CROW

Bradley Cooper On Playing Lucifer In PARADISE LOST & Turning Down THE CROW

Check out some great video interviews from Empire which see Cooper in wise cracking form speaking about his prep for playing Lucifer. He even reveals some set pics of himself in a mo-cap suit. He also reveals why he dropped out of The Crow remake..
As we know Bradley Cooper will play the original Fallen Angel Lucifer in Alex Proyas' adaptation of Milton's Paradise Lost. In the following video interview with Empire the actor jokes about doing no preparation at all and simply "winging it". He then shows us a couple of set images of himself wearing a very unique mo-cap suit. He also hints that Lucifer will be "The Angel Of Light" for the majority of the movie and only become "The Devil" towards the end when he will adopt a more "cracked" sounding voice. In the brief second vid Cooper explains that he left the remake of The Crow when the original director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo did..

    No paradise...

    Legendary Pictures Scraps PARADISE LOST

Last December, it was revealed that filming of director Alex Proyas' Paradise Lost had been postponed due to budgetary concerns. Inspired by by the John Milton peom, Bradley Cooper was signed up to play Lucifer, while Benjamin Walker was set to star as Michael. However, Deadline now reports that the movie (which also had several other actors lined up for various roles) has been scrapped completely by Legendary Pictures. The decision was made following attempts to bring the budget down to a more manageable $120 million, but the problem in the end was the cost of the visual effects. The site don't elaborate on this point, but the general buzz is that the technology just doesn't exist to fully realise Proyas' vision. Despite deals being made and an unrevealed eight figure sum having been spent by producers to get this far, it looks like for now, Paradise Lost is...well, lost to us.
