Thread: Republican, yes, but not Bachman

Is is just me or have Republicans just completely gone off their nut. Bachmann and Perry are just plain crazy. Since when did people like this have a chance to become President. They are from the ignorant lunatic fringe, IMHO. Not a partisan guy, but the Republican party does not seem to be giving people much in the way of a viable option these days.

I wish Chris Christy would get in the race. Looks like I will have to go with Romney.

Marcus Bachman is definitely gay.

People will still vote for her just for the simple fact she's a Republican.

Rep. Michelle Bachmann, R-Minn., has spent months discussing her work as a tax attorney for the Internal Revenue Service as as a professional and positive qualification.

Now, Bachmann is describing the IRS as “your enemy.”

The Tea Party champion and Republican presidential hopeful was on the hustings in South Carolina this week. Bachmann gave a rally this explanation of her four years of work for America’s tax-collection agency:

“We change the economy by changing the tax code. How many of you love the IRS? No! It’s time to change it. I went to work in that system because the first rule of war is, ‘Know your enemy.’

“So I went inside to learn how they work because I wanted to beat them.”

The IRS, as of last year, employed 107,631 Americans. It boasts of spending 53 cents for every $100 in revenue it collects.

Even while celebrating his 1981 tax cuts, President Ronald Reagan asked to increase the IRS’ budget and work force on grounds it was necessary to see that taxes owed were collected.

Of Bachmann, commented Greg Sargent of The Washington Post, “She worked for the IRS as a kind of secret anti-tax mole whose mission was to get to know the place in order to better undermine it later.”

Ron Paul is just as much as a fraud as the rest. unfortunately a decent amount of people have bought into the "limited government" delusion and they think this will make things better and now the main stream GOP candidates are selling this crap as well. all this means is limited government for the people while nothing changes in terms of services for the big corps. eliminating the buffer between the people and the big corps and multi-nationals will surely make things better, about the same as taking off your class 3-A body armor before going into a fire fight...

you can have your new world order, one world currency, No rights and population control. ill keep my rights and my guns and pride but thank you. Ron Paul is the man we need as a president and as a leader this shit is getting out of control and everyday we lose more right and they try to limit more of the constitution everyday

you are just as delusional as he is if you think one man is going to end neo-liberalism. the rise of global banking since the 70's did not happen by accident. if you are waiting for Ron Paul or any other POTUS to save the US, I hope you have a plan B. until americans become more intelligent, nothing is going to change.

Well to you sir i tip my hat. I could not agree more. I would be stupid to believe that Ron Paul alone can change everything. God forbid is he got close they would jfk the poor guy. But Ron Paul would be a great leader and thats what we need not another Ron Paul not another bush's we dont need that we need a true American maybe if he got elected America would wise up. I would vote for Ron Paul in a second, but as LAM pointed out, it really wouldn't change anything. I definitely don't agree he is a fraud like the rest, he is consistent across the board as far as I can see.

I see a big red flag when any public figure uses their religion to obtain competitive advantage in an election. That's a misuse of religion. I have nothing against them being religious, but dislike them saying, "Vote for me because I'm religious."

* Ron Paul is a big seller of the delusion of limited government. government provides the buffer between labor and capital. the US has the highest rate of poverty in the OECD out of all industrialize country's and is surpassed by Mexico and Turkey. right now the US has the highest level of poverty in 50+ years. reduce the buffer between labor and capital and these will increase drastically. but this is only one of the problems. the US is the only country where corporations have more power than government and this is because of the infiltration of lobbyist and money into politics. the US gov failed the people by not controlling the corps.

* he is a supporter of limited government for people but not for politicians. he wants to keep his tax payer subsidized healthcare but take away medicare, etc. for those that can't afford it. he's a hypocrite both him and his son. just about all of them have profited from government in one way shape or form. government needs to be fixed in certain areas and decreased in certain areas. given the size of the US population the US gov is actually quite efficient, it has ranked in the middle of the OECD in terms of efficiency but we have more people than almost all the other OECD countries combined.

I feel the same way about Democrats saying " vote for me because I will take money from people who have worked hard and earned it to give you more welfare entitlments."
