Carrie Fisher reveals 50 pound weight loss

    August 24, 2011, 5:14 pm ET

Over the past nine months, actress Carrie Fisher has lost 50 pounds, and she’s showing off her slimmer silhouette, reports People.

The Jenny Craig spokeswoman appeared on Wednesday’s “Today” show and spoke about her weight loss journey.

The former “Star Wars” actress, 54, showed off her new bod for “Today” host Ann Curry, who exclaimed, “Holy cow!” Curry joked, “Where’s the rest of you?” To which Fisher quipped, “I don’t want to know, because then I’d have to go get it.”

On what life was like 50 pounds heavier, Fisher says she “couldn’t leave the house [to go shopping], because they didn’t have sizes [large enough]... I exhausted the alphabet on bra sizes.”

The actress and author added that she relied on her Jenny Craig consultant, who functioned as someone “to complain to, stamp my fat foot and say I didn’t want to do it.”

Of the plan’s food, the actress/author says she enjoyed eating cereal, because “it tastes like contraband.”

Fisher’s slim and trim again, but no word on if she’ll slip back into her Princess Leia metal bikini.

Sherr, I recommend you read the following book. “The Ultimate Metabolism” by Dr Mark Hyman. Follow his advise and you lose weight, feel better, and have more energy to go out and earn the extra $ you want. Best wishes to you.

Good for her, 50 lbs is quite an accomplishment.

Why do people say 'well done' when they lose the weight?

I always think 'why the fuck did you do that to yourself in the first place and get in that state'

I know a bloke who had a gastric band and keeps bragging about I've lost 100lb etc, expecting to get praise for it, I just keep thinking you were a big fat ugly fucker now your just a medium untoned ugly fucker with massive folds of stretched skin hidden away, you lost all respect from me long ago porky!

exactly...when you are constantly buying bigger and bigger clothes at what point does it not hit you to slow it down...doesn't take much for a short woman either

She don't too bad now for an older lady in that first USA Today pic. I grew up as a Star Wars fan. Never thought she was hot or anything. I was too young.

She mentions that fact in the following vid. States that fifteen pounds is an entire planet on someone her height -- 5'1". They also show off the Star Wars pinup of her in the metal bikini.

Her monologue "Wishful Drinking" was fantastic. She is a very funny woman. Gotta respect someone who has lived through so much and come out the other side intact, and with the ability to laugh at herself. Glad she is doing well and taking better care of her health.

I can completely sympathize with her. I'm the same height, same starting weight. I've got to catch up some, but it's coming off

I didn't know her mom was Debbie Reynolds.
