Is dipping a better alternative to smoking when speaking in terms of fitness?

I think dipping gives me the means to do tobacco while bodybuilding in order to stay in better health as opposed to smoking.

    But, I could be wrong . . .

    Thought? Concerns?

It still has the potential to cause cancer and destroy your gums and throat.

If you can't kick nicotine, get it in a tobacco free form like Nicorette gum.

Nicotine is more of a destroyer of the cardiovascular system than the smoke is. Dipping is not much better than smoking when it comes to how they effect your training.

Not what I wanted to hear but I will take that to heart. I don't want to chew gun or do the patch. I do it for a few months at a time so the cancer doesn't really scare me.

I see the irony, but nonetheless a valid question worth examining

Patches to get the nicotine fix while you train the subconscious that you no longer have a habbit. Out of all the drugs Ive enjoyed throughout the years nicotine is #1 on my hate list. Such a harmful drug that gives you nothing in return.

I was smoking a pack a day during the week, but I kicked that habit. I now only smoke when I drink on the weekends. I can tell you that my endurance is through the roof. I used to get winded after doing heavy squats, but just a month later I feel soooooo much better.

I would have to say that dip would be better than cigarettes because cigs deprive your body of oxygen.

I use to smoke two packs of Newports a day, drink 2 pots of coffee, smoke an ounce of weed ever two weeks, and drink at the pub after work 2 to 3 times per week. I had no cardiovascular problems other than high blood pressure. As a matter of fact, I have never been stronger than when I was doing all of that.

But don't get me wrong, I know it was coincidental. I don't attribute my strength level to my unhealthy lifestyle. I'm just saying that some people can get away with it and some people can't. My dad has lived the same lifestyle plus a pork sausage and eggs diet, but minus the weed for over 60 years, and his doctor says he is in great shape other than high blood pressure.

Not that I condone it, but I have a grandfather who has made it to 79 smoking 2 packs a day and he now has mild emphysema. His Dr said it would be harder on him to quit at this point.

I found that it was better to quit nicotine all together. Dipping is Damn addicting though...

I love it, the nicotine rush is second to none. I passed out the first time I tried it when I was 16

the effect that nicotine has on oxygen levels in soft tissues is the same regardless of the method of transport into the body. either way it decreases aerobic capacity.
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

Damnit! I am getting too many negative reviews on dipping. I will probably just stop. I only dip while deployed. I can turn it off like a light switch. My wife hates it so i have to stop when I am home on leave
