    FUZO,

More and more speculation lately, even by, me. but as we feel the want or need to speculate, it is a wee bit too early.

Why? Because it just is. 14 more months is a lifetime politically.

So my answer to whether he'll be re-elected is: I dunno.

I've been back and forth a few times, already, though.
Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first.

Depends on who runs against him. If it's Romney, there's a chance. According to some recent poles, he loses to an unnamed repubican by a comfortable margin. But, if the repubs run nominate a week candidate, he may still win. The problem is, no matter how incompetent the incumbent may be, he always has the advantage. People would rather vote for the failure they know than the one they don't know. Look at the 2004 election. Being the sitting president and having John Kerry as his opponent almost guaranteed Bush re-election. Right now, the repubs don't seem to have an especially appealing candidate.

Despite a terrible job only surpassed by his predecessor, Obama will win re-election in the same way the GOP won in 2010, the old fart vote.

IDK about surpassed. He hasn't finished his first full term yet. If he gets 4 more years, he may very well give Bush some competition for one of the worst presidents ever. Bush sucked on the economy and foreign policy. I don't see where Obama is doing better on either. In fact, he may be worse on foreign policy. On economic policy, I'd give both of them a resounding F-.

Old farts come out in droves and vote. They're far more likely to vote than people in our age bracket. A great majority of them vote dem, due to social security and medicare concerns. Last time I went to vote, it seemed that most of the old farts were asking for a dem ticket, and this is in a red state.

I believe the reason that the GOP won in 2010 was almost entirely over healthcare reform. It was the disaster of a bill that Obama and his inner circle rammed through the congress on 100% party lines. That, and the fact that his admin had to bribe members of their own party just to get enough votes for the thing to pass. If it goes before the supreme court before the next election season, it may be his undoing.

more like a double anal DP during mid hemorrhoid flare up with no lube or even a reach-around....

there are several economic bubbles on the verge of breaking in the next couple of years. ultimately all of them caused by the FRB, decades of neo-liberal economic policy and the severely broken representative "democracy" used in the US. lobbying is not allowed in most countries in in the ones that do not near the extent as in the US. almost 50% of Congress goes into lobbying when the leave government.

I like your way of thinking. Yeah, I think the best way to solve our econ problems is to raise taxes on the poor. After all, about 50% of americans pay no federal income tax.

Make it unbearable for the poor to remain poor and they'll get off their worthless asses and start contributing. Perhaps a regressive income tax would work. For example, if I earn $300k/yr, my 10% is a helluva lot more than your 25% if you make $20k per year; even more than 40% of someone's $12k earnings. Make sure everyone has some skin in the game. If you earn $15,000, then you're rate should be 35% and it should go up by 3% for each child you have. If you have a child out of wedlock, a %10 increase penalty and loss of medicare benefits is in order until you are married. A regressive tax system would drastically reduce the deficit and raise the per capita GDP significantly.

That's right. If you want less of something, you must tax it. So, we need to disincentivize poverty. Through higher taxes on the poor. Unfortunately, the useless bastards are allowed to vote, so no politician would ever have the balls to introduce such legislation.

lol...at your ability to grasp real world economics. with views like this it's much better that you are teaching in China vs spreading this garbage to US students.

Anyone who thinks Obama will be re-elected is delusional

    Approval %39
    Unemployment rate %9.1
    has already spent 4 Trillion
Health Care plan is a flop

He has lost the White male vote

Blacks and young voters will not turn out like they did in 08

Marco Rubio will be picked for VP Causing the Hispanic vote to break even and will almost Gaurantee Obama will lose in Florida.

But what put the nail in the coffin for Obama was saying that the borders of Isreal and Palestine should be based on the 1967 lines mutually agreed swaps. This pissed off the heavy donor and influence Jewish vote. If they don't support you good luck pulling it off.

It has been a sad disaster. He will be known as one of the biggest dissapointments in American History. Even his own party is dissapointed in his Presidency whether they admit it publicly or not.

If he was smart he would have waited untill election time to kill Bin-Laden
That was his only wild card.

as always the election will be decided by the electorates that pledge for the independents and they are on the fence right now. the popular vote is meaningless

the deficit has grown so rapidly as consumption has slowed to a crawl so the rapid increase is coming from reduced tax revenue and not spending through approved legislation.

decades of wage inequality have left only 3 of the 5 income quintiles with sufficient income to spend at this point. the higher you go up on the income ladder the faster and greater wage growth occurs but there is also a significant smaller share of the population in each quintile.

Latest Gallup poll has Obama job approval with Independents at %34.

I personaly would not describe %34 on the fence.

the election is almost a year out and those numbers swing by 10points all the time depending on what's in the news.

there will be no good news about the economy for quite some time. only 35K jobs were added in the past 3 months when 400K a month are needed to return to pre-recession employment levels by 2014. but that's not going to happen as the lack of income for many has caused consumption to decrease when then triggers less demand for workers. it's a viscous cycle quite similar to the events in the 1930's.

The blacks won't get out to vote in big numbers this time and the Hispanics and illegals are against him because he lied about amnesty. Short of Bachman being on the ticket, even Romney (Obama Lite) can beat Obama.

I'd like to see a Perry/Paul or Paul/Perry ticket myself.

Perry has no chance. Older voters won't vote for him because he called SS a Ponzi scheme and independents won't vote for another retard from Texas. Romney can beat him, though.
