Video and pics in article.Prostitution, which is legal in Germany, must be taxed like any other industry. To make certain no tax dollar goes uncollected, the city of Bonn has installed the equivalent of “parking meters” on its streets to serve as depositories where prostitutes can pay their nightly taxes.
According to BBC, the prostitutes are taxed six euros per night, or, the equivalent of about nine U.S. dollars. Isabelle Klotz, a spokeswoman for the city, said they expect to collect roughly 200,000 euros per year from the meter:
Those who fail to pay face fines or even a ban, and 264 euros were found in the meter when it was first emptied, according to AFP news agency.
Tax has been levied on prostitutes elsewhere but Bonn is the first city to use a meter, a spokeswoman said.
But a prostitutes’ rights activist said the scheme amounted to double taxation.
Prostitutes are expected to pay the flat rate, regardless of earnings.
According to BBC, Bonn has also erected “consummation areas” — in this instance, wooden garages — where prostitutes may service their clients.

I just recently found out it's legal in Canada. It's a huge underground business in Windsor (They can't solicit in public) and have actually thought about trying it out. Arresting people for a wanting to get laid is a total waste of money. I say legalize and mandatory test prostitutes and give them licenses for prostition, legalize gambling, legalize weed and tax it, and steroids should not be a scheduled narcotic like MDMA and coke and other hardcore drugs.

I am fine with this, though you are going to find prostitutes will end up getting relieved of their duties as too many will come up positive for things like herpes and HPV, being that they are so prevelant in America now and people so freely lie about having them. I do agree it should be regulated and taxed, as should marijuana. I agree with gambling as well, though that is yet another addiction that will face many Americans that are weak and will end up blowing all their money. back in the frontier days when the west was being settled prostitution wasn't illegal not until like the 1930s. it had something to do with the WCTU.
