I tore my bicep last night. Has this happen to anyone here
So my bicep os torn at the elbow. Pain isn't severe, but there's a noticeable deformity. I have no insurance so surgery is not an option. What should I do? How long should I keep it immobile? When can I train again? Should I get off my cycle or stay in and see how my arm responds with a week or two of rest?
If it comes up black in the next day or so you know you've done a good job otherwise just a partial tear I would say. Do you have access to any medical treatment? Get onto the Hgh ASAP and ice on ice off etc

tore as in seperated? of it is seperated you HAVE to get surgery done withint a month, so I have been told. my cousin seperated his outside head at the shoulder and he was told he cant have it repaired, it is too late when he flexes he gets this tight little ball, he says he doesnt have any measurable loss in strength tho in that arm, maybe the inner head compensated thru the injury to make up for loss.

No insurance. Surgery isn't an option. How long did he rested for? I know it sounds petty but my main concern is training. Its the only thing that keeps me from loosing my mind
hey brother thank you for asking. its sore. but not horrbly painfull. theres some brusing but not very much. i was looking at pics of arms that were totally black, i only have very very light brusing. so im hoping it isnt as bad as i thought it was.

I have no $$ for it. It'll heal. It'll just look kinda weird. I wish I could heve it worked on. Trust me
how do you know it will heal right?
you leave it for a few months then you lift 30lb and it rips compleatly off because its only attached my a small bit of flesh!?!?
common man....
and after a month its too late for surgery, let alone a couple years
my point! get it doen now on credit and deal with $ as you can.
there must be someone that can help you? finance the surgery, use credit card, somthing?????
if it where me id make sure its fixed even if it ment well.. doing somthing illegal to get the $ not that im reccomending that, just saying....
Don't be so quick to believe that. Ask the doctor about plans or payment options or other options at all. If you automatically say, "Sugery isn't an option" you're limiting yourself. Perhaps it is an option.

This. Investigate your options.
Hope it's not as bad as it could be, gymrat. Best wishes and keep us posted, man.
Folks around here with no insurance go to the ER for every little thing. By law, hospitals cannot turn a medical need away regardless of insurance status. A torn muscle is a MEDICAL emergency. Go to the ER. At the very least you will find out the degree of your injury and possible options.

I went to the doctor within a few hours. They said the only way to know the severity was to get an MRI. That's over $1,000.
