The mandatory screening before receiving welfare is a fucking stupid idea. First off its super easy to cheat the tests; either buy some synthetic urine, take a detox cleaning kit, get someone who's clean to piss in a bottle for, or just stop taking the drugs until you know they are out of your system than have at her once you get your check. Who's to stop them from spending that money on any other useless shit like fast food, hookers, etc.?

How much control do you really want to give the government to dictate what you can or can't do?


To get a test done costs $150 starting and only goes up depending on what kind you have done and what you're looking for. Multiple that number by the millions on welfare and add that extra cost to how much welfare already costs.

I want to because the country would be much better if we ran it only by the constitution, the bill of rights, and the other amendments made. Most of our freedoms lost are because the constitution is violated daily. It is the document that guarantees our libery and our right to choose our way of life.

Alas, There are only three libertarians in my town so we can't even get a local office...let alone the white house. If they wouldn't always be trying to find ways around the constitution or changing the meaning it would be a much greater country than it is now. Look at the insane drug laws (and I'm speaking as someone who's never used a rec drug in his life)...they don't hold up to the constitution...they were a way around it, starting in the 30s, originally out of fear that black men would use drugs to have sex with white women? Now how ridiculous is that? And from using the interstate commerce clauses and tax acts to usurp constitutional authority and engage in social engineering... it's only gone down hill from there.

a lot of families that ARE working receive welfare. minimum wage pay rate in this country needs to reflect the cost of living it currently is a joke. and a child in care cost tax payers a fuck lot more money than the tuppence in welfare given to support it in it's birth home. taking kids into the foster system is no way to save money or kids. it is far more expensive and kids are far more likely to be abused in care.

I'm still in shock by the number of Americans who think English is the American language. There is no official language for a reason, and if there were it would have been German anyways. The founding fathers almost made German the official language just to piss off the britts.

A majority of those questioned answered that we should cut it. Most people thought we spent 25% of our budget on it, and it should only be 10%. Foreign aid is less than 1% of our budget. This is why we are fucked, they allow stupid people to vote.

That's funny, but true. The last I had read the largest single group of welfare recipients were children under the age of 5 as well. The number two group was their single white mothers.

I don't see how anyone could think children should go hungry just because they chose a womb that was a piece of shit.
