Reply With QuoteThe lidocaine isnt used to dilute it. The triamcinolone (kenalog) im sure is already reconstituted with bacteriostatic water or some other fluid for injection. The lidocaine is used to provide immediate local pain relief as kenalog is a long acting anti-inflammatory and will take several hrs to days to ease inflammation and associated pain.

Kenalog 40mg 10cc bottle
Ok for those that might be in the medical field. What do you use with kenalog cortizone before you inject it into your muscles aka shoulder,knee,hip ect. Ive been getting trigger points injections with cortizone in my hamstrings and hip area and my nurse uses 1cc of kenalog and 2-3cc's of lidocaine with it while injecting into a hip area or a shoulder area or a knee area. What else can you use kenalog with beside lidocaine to dilute it.Thanks.

you should not get those injections more then 3 times yr. it destroys cartilidge.
