    Arrow Wanted 2

Wanted Sequel Is A Go, Writers On Board

Wanted Sequel Is A Go, Writers On Board

The Wrap report that the writing duo from Timur Bekmambetov's first Wanted have been hired to pen a sequel. We also get a very rough idea of the story the sequel will follow..
It seems a sequel to the loose adaptation of Mark Millar's controversial comic series is definitely in the works as the original movie's screenwriters are on board.

    From The Wrap..

The studio has hired Michael Brandt and Derek Haas to write "Wanted 2," Haas told TheWrap Tuesday -- and tweeted.

"We just always loved the 'Wanted' world and loved working with Universal and (director) Timur (Bekmambetov) on the first one, so we're excited."

"Wanted 2" is "going to take off after the events of what just happened," Haas said. "Pick up Wesley a few years later and go back in for another round."

No word on whether the original cast or director will return. Hass says that while he would love to work with Bekmambatov again, he is "a busy guy". JamesMcAvoy played Wesley in the first movie which bore almost no relation beyond character names and basic premise to the Mark Millar comic of the same name. AngelinaJolie played the female lead and was rumored to be sought by Universal to return for the sequel despite literally having her head blown off at the end of the first movie.

If Mcavoy isn't on board for the second, its just not going to interest me. Too bad they killed off the rest of the crew.

Wanted 2 Writers Expect Director Timur Bekmambetov To Return To Helm Sequel!

Wanted 2 Writers Expect Director Timur Bekmambetov To Return To Helm Sequel!

Writers Michael Brandt and Derek Haas talk briefly about where we might see lead character Wesley (originally played by X-Men: First Class star JamesMcAvoy) go in the sequel as well as why they expect Timur Bekmambetov to return...

While many fans of the comic didn't take too kindly to the 2008 adaptation of Mark Millar's Wanted (it took a fair few liberties with the source material) it WAS a financial success, and we recently heard that a sequel would be going ahead. So, with the script currently being worked on, what of director Timur Bekmambetov? "Hopefully, Timur will come back on to direct," co-screenwriter Michael Brandt told Coming Soon in a recent interview. "You write it with Timur's sensibility and try to give him the most leeway to do what he does really well."

"We're just writing the script right now. We're hoping that it's going to be Timur directing," added writing partner, Derek Haas. "I think Michael and I are going to strong-arm him into Universal and make him do it. We're writing and basically picking Wesley up a few years after the events of the first movie and throwing him back into that world."

Any red blooded heterosexual male has dreamed of having a sexual tryst with the gorgeous Angelie Jolie. The nightmare would be ripping some protein filled farts in front of any gorgeous gal, but even worse if it's in front of one of the most desired women in the world. James McAvoy lived that nightmare as it was a side effect of bulking up with protein shakes for Wanted.
