Newt's not the classiest cat to ever run for pres, but he's a helluva lot more qualified for the job than Obama. Sadly, I don't see him winning in the GE unless something happens to Obamacare bw now and election day. He's too much of an establishment candidate and being the incumbent, Barry definitely holds an advantage.

That whole, "Abolish Fannie and Freddie and, oh yeah, I took millions of dollars from them as a "consultant" thing" will prevent him from going anywhere. Face it, as much as every GOPer hates it, Mitt will be their nominee.

Probably. And, he'll get about as far as McCain. It's gonna take a paradigm shift to get the country headed in the right direction. IDK who to support at this point. I was growing fond of Cain for a while there. But, some of the shit that's being slung at him seems to be sticking lately. If it comes down to Barry or Romney, I'll prolly just sit this one out. There's really no difference b/w the two of them other than the letter by their names. Romney's from Massachusetts, so you know he's a pinko-liberal commie fag, regardless of party affiliation.

That right there is what's gonna get Romney elected. (No, I don't like Romney) The people that came out of the woodwork last time to give Obama the landslide are disgusted with the state of the country. They're gonna sit this one out no matter who's running. That leaves the hardcore base on either side. It's my firm opinion that the far right is much more fired up and will come out in droves no matter who gets the (R) nod, for no other reason than to get rid of Obama. They'll have to hold their noses to do it but, they'll still vote for Romney. Just like they did for McLame.

Besides taking every possible stance on every subject, depending on who's asking the questions. This guy is as fair weather and just as much as a flip flopper as everyone accuses Romney of, yes, even he. This guy is a proven liar and a huge hypocrite, the modern day politician...it's looking like nothing's going to change.

Once Newt's numbers increase beyond a statistical tie, the media is gonna slaughter him. You know they attack whoever the (R) frontrunner is unless it's their guy. That's how McLame won the (R) nomination last time. The media wants Romney, so they're gonna dogpile on anyone and everyone they see as a realistic challenger to him.

Find me a guy that will slash federal spending including significantly decreasing our future entitlement burden and he/she has my vote. This country is heading for bankruptcy, which will lead to some kind of middle class/peasant rebellion, so its better to begin fixing this bullshit now than 10 or 20 years from now when the Boomers totally drain the printing presses dry of ink.

True to a point. If it were 2008 again, after 8 years of a Republican president, I would tend to agree.

Sure the liberal media got their great mulatto hope elected in 2008 but short of the liberal left, much of the electorate has noticed Obama hasn't done jack shit for the economy, unemployment and he is spending us in oblivion.

The 90% of the media that are Democrats aren't going to be able to sway the vote enough for the moderates to vote for Obama. The Republicans are already not going to vote for him and the moderates are already against him, so I feel a liberal news media witch hunt really isn't going to sway the vote away from a good opposing candidate.

Newt = Baggage, way too much of it as well. with his past he has little or no chance in the GE. I wish Huntsman or Paul would but they also have little chance to even make it to the GE let alone win it. Conservatives have very little choice in this. Either accept Romney (who has the best chance to win the GE) or accept a 2nd Obuma term.

It's too early to say who will be our next President.

    It's speculation.

Newt is well read, and a good debater, IMO. - But so is Obama.

Try to actually provide some knowledge of what you are posting, intest of you - sounding like an uneducated, 1st grader.

Notice what Newt is doing....pandering a bit to the illegals which is unheard of for a Republican.

The illegals and their legal counterparts aren't going to vote for Obama this time because like 100 other things, Obama has turned out to be a fucking liar on giving illegals a path to citizenship.

Along comes Newt knowing the blacks won't turn out in '12 like they did in '08, so he's zeroing in on the other big minority group which is the Hispanics. Like him or hate him, that's a smart strategy.

If Newt can get the moderates to believe he'll cut spending, cut entitlements and shrink the government, he's got them in the bag for the most part. As far as the right of center folks go, they're going to vote for the 'R' so who cares if he'll supposedly grant some long time illegals amnesty?

Romney is a corrupt fucking lying disaster of politician just like Obama is, so I truly hope he isn't the chosen one. Unfortunately at this point in the game, the only other viable option is Newt.

You just told the rest of my story. I agree, no matter how powerful the media is, the general public is way too pissed at Obama to re-elect him. That's why I think the media is fixated on Romney. If they can't have Obama, they'll take Obama Lite.

Obama will be re-elected. How? The same old assholes who elected the GOP in 2010 because they thought Obama was going to do away with Medicare will vote Obama this time because they believe the GOP will do away with it. That is a voting block that will show up in masses no matter what. Funny, I would imagine most of them identify as Republicans, but for a group who hates handouts, they sure do base their vote on making sure they get theirs.

I do realize people pay in to Medicare, but the way these people take care of themselves they will be taking out 10x what they put in. You also have to imagine a ton of middle class people will just vote dem anyway. Like it or not, people relate the dems with the middle class and the GOP with the elite. Most intelligent people know they are both cool with the status quo, but that doesn't matter. People who are worried about getting unemployment etc. to survive will not vote GOP and that is like 14 million right there. The GOP should do their best from now til next November to just capitulate to some of the dems demands just so they have a chance. They really need to shake that image.

    McCain did.

    GWB did.

    Other GOPers do.

Unfortunately, this is one of the downsides of so-called democratic elections. Pandering for votes.

The Hispanic population (Mexican) has gotten so big that their legal and illegal base is courted to by politicians.

He was able to work with Bill and successfully and pass welfare reform, capital gains tax cuts (much to the angst of libs), and pass a balanced budget. He also landed a hot, much younger wife while he was house speaker. He's also been very successful since leaving office. He's far more accomplished than Barry, despite Barry's 4 years of on-the-job training.

the capital gains cut in the tax payer relief act of 1997 for residential property's is what got the ball rolling on the whole housing bubble and corresponding global banking collapse...nothing to really brag about....lower taxes aren't "always" better

I was a Cain supporter. Now that he has been politically assassinated, it is time to look at what is left.

Newt to me represents the stereotypical life time politician and RHINO. A old white haired fat guy who has been part of the DC game for a very long time. He is institutionalized to the graft and corruption.

For the record, I am part of the "Anybody But Obama" club. But if they republicans run Newt, I will need to get use to the fact the Obama will get 4 more years.

since 1980 every major downturn in labors share of the national income occurs when the GOP has control of the White House. your brain and heart might not want it but it benefits your fiscal well being to have another 4 years of Obama...

You glanced over welfare reform and the fact that the budget had a surplus while he and Clinton were in office. Newt didn't make it all happen but he sold it to the Republican controlled house, that says something where as Boehner is just a blowhard. The labor share is an issue but the unions haven't made too many strides since they are in office. The dems in office won't solve everything LAM, sorry, the world is so polarized now that what used to happen more than likely won't repeat itself.

Didn't and never said it would...but they also don't add fuel to the fire by constantly meddling in the markets and making taxes in the US less progressive. one is a slow walk of a cliff and the other is an all out sprint
