Both are excellent and I also think it's apples and oranges.
Good Spielberg movies: Saving Private Ryan, ET, Schindler's list
Good Scorcese movies: The Departed, Goodfellas, Shutter Island (loved it)
If I really had to pick my favorite, it would be Scorcese.

I gave Spielberg credit for a film he didn't make which makes him even more inferior. I may have hit the psyches a little hard last year.
