How about: the government should have as little ability as possible to tell you what to do.
That's even easier.

So many cries of inequality stem from one of group

to improve their lives.
I find the argument on both sides kind of weak. Gay rights advocates always use a phrase similar to 'the right to marry the one you love'; however I'm not sure where this comes from. Historically there have been many marriages formed or denied without respect to love. Arranged marriages, marriage licenses denied because of blood relations, diseases, etc. Anyway, there must be legal precedent in the U.S. concerning what the 'right' actually is and that's what they should focus on.
I noticed they promoted the idea of marriage between two people and didn't touch on polygamy. I think this also highlights a weakness in their stance because it shows they are riding a cultural line and appealing to emotions more so than rigid logic. Polygamy is still taboo and gays feel the need to distance themselves from it. Marriage rights being between two people does seem logically arbitrary. Arguments that distinguish the two are of the same murky nature.
The above is commentary on the arguments, not my stance on the issues. Don't freak out.

So I'm not the only one that's brought that up. Nice.
However...
I'm cool with gay marriage, but if some guy wants to have two wives, there's obviously something really fucking wrong with him and he shouldn't be allowed to marry a single person, much less two.
I'm just sayin'...

I call myself a liberal lefty, but mostly because of social issues. Fiscally, I'm not sure where I stand because I'm ignorant in economics. I just can't see myself voting for a fiscal conservative that is pro-life, or pro-creationism, and against the separation of church and state.

I do believe in individual rights, but I also believe in preservation of national resources and do not want our courts involved in gay divorce. It's funny how they think they are better at relationships than the rest of us, but let's get real; allow gay marriage, and gay divorce will happen.

I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.
Even a little more simple. How about being and acting like a human and don't try to find fault with others, just work on yourself and try to amend your own faults.
The journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.

Why doesn't our government stay out if it and let the businesses who perform marriages decide who can and who can't get married?
Gary Johnson 2012

All gays are gay
This makes no sense. You talk like businesses are a different species. People are selfish, even the poorest person. A business doesn't have a conscience and the people who run them are born with the same human nature as the jobless hippie. Hippie greed is no more ethical than corporate greed.

This is simple, marriage should not exist. The simple fact is marriage is a myth created by religion and now kept alive by the Government. All it is in todays world is a business agreement, and a very bad one at that.
If you want to celebrate your relationship with someone, do it with friends and family, do not give power to the State or Church.
I'm totally for gay rights, get married and pack as much fudge as you want!!!
I do have a problem with gay adoption though. In this case a 3rd party's rights should also be considered. Not saying that the gays can't do a good job of raising a normal child, but all else being equal, the child will be subject to prejudism which he/she may not otherwise have to face. We hear a lot about the success stories, but what about the failures?
In a perfect world gay adoption would be a non-issue. We don't live in a perfect world...
