US media outlets control the flow and content of information that Americans get from the "real world". from inside the US we have no access to media outlets from other countries but they have access to our mainstream media programming. blocking various Internet content is just another form of isolationism. most americans don't travel outside of the US only get one view of the world and that is from the US propaganda machine (the MIC) for the entire life cycle. with the exception of trips to Mexico and Canada I believe that rate is less than 5% of the US population.
