Doesn't seem like a long career...

I saw one episode and the main guy was taking on everyone to see who would be second headliner in Las Vegas he broke his hand halfway through and got knocked off his horse twice by the same guy.

What I find funny is we have the technology to make that armor a little more shock absorbent yet they still insist on being traditionalist... If they just added some high tech foam under the armor and in the helmets they'd still have the appearance without the high risk of injury which would allow a little more longevity....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

Yeah, an episode or two later some dude adds a piece of leather to his face shield but that is about it for protective equipment.
