Of COURSE he's a loony tunes. He just burned someone alive. What sane person does that?

You just shot the president? Yeah, you're nuts. So what? Tell me something I don't know. Life in prison, crazy man.

    For money?

I want to see the amount "owed". Seriously. How much is the dollar value for burning someone alive?

Twelve bucks? Twelve hundred? Twelve thousand? Twelve million? What would it take for you to say, "Aw, screw this, where's my lighter fluid and those long matches I have?"

i don't see if he's a psycho how he made it to 47 with no other offenses. i don't see if he's a thief how he has a job allowing him into other people's homes. i said of course he shouldn't have done it but i wonder how she got him THAT pissed? and for many working people there's not a lot between them and hunger, the freezing cold, homelessness... maybe he was treading water 47 years and she reached out and pushed his head under for spite...

Police say Isaac is a disgruntled handyman who was so angry that Delores Gillespie, a former employer, had failed to pay a $2,000 bill that he killed her on Saturday.

Ms Gillespie, who neighbours believe grew up in Louisiana and suffered a mental illness, was pronounced dead at the scene.

She had often complained other tenants were stealing from her – yet neighbours believed she was simply paranoid.

$2,000 is a month's rent. that's an ice cold new york winter. being accused of stealing is the loss of his livelihood...

doesn't justify it but sure does make it easier to understand what pushed him over the edge. i doubt he has a spare month's rent laying around. and yea her family is so concerned now but she was obviously not fit to handle her own affairs n was living alone in a shit hole?

I think there are plenty of mitigating factors in this case. Since he was a 1st timer, he should get off with probation. No need to ruin the guy's life over a few minutes of poor judgement. The "victim" doesn't sound like a very good person anyway and is probably the true responsible party. If she were still alive, he might even be entitled to compensation for lost wages and mental anguish from the whole ordeal.

They say you arent mentally capable to stand trial if you didnt know right from wrong. He could never plead insanity, the fact that he dressed up in disguise shows premeditation. Law says youre not a nut if you can conjur up a simple plan, so thats out.

lol gears you're killing me. maybe this was some sort of psychotic break i'm no mental health professional but yeaaaaaa i do not think a slap on the wrist is enough. even if you're not guilty by reason of insanity don't they hold you if you're dangerous? temporary insanity still a defense? there were like 5 billion things he could have done without killing her or ruining his life.

Not everyone gets caught. He was lucky not to get caught for many years...who knows.

I knew a kid in school who stabbed 4 people and was never arrested until he was busted for weed.

    Word!

They should take some responsibility for leaving her out in the world to fend for herself knowing she wasnt of sound mind. My gf's mom is crazy so we let her live in the studio attached to our house. We've had to deal with all of her insane antics but how could we kick her out to fend for herself knowing she wouldn't make it long. If my mom ends up needing help I will move her out here and do the same for her. People are too selfish these days and I can't see how they can just dump their parents off in some dump to live knowing they can't function normally anymore....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
