No country for Old Men was pretty bad ass.
A lot of the comedies mentioned were great. The Big Lebowski was hilarious. A not so popular pick would be Strange Brew.

Was trying to scan my brain for more badass movies.. a lot of mobster movies came to mind: Casino, Kill the Irishman, The Departed, The Bourne series, The Mechanic, Law Abiding Citizen (what he does for revenge is just insanely badass).
