    Wtf army!?

The story goes like this; i started lifting in high school. i was 155 benching 315, squating 315 15x but i stopped lifting after HS and didnt pick up a weight again till November 15, 2011. so i took about 2 1/2 years off. now that i started lifting again and eating great ive put on about 17-20 lbs and im at 8.2% bf.

but the reason im posting is because my squad leader is telling me that im not aloud to lift anymore bc im getting to big (im being 100% serious). we started lifting at the same time but everyone can tell he is jealous as shit bc he hasnt seen gains like i have. he says the reason im not aloud to lift is bc it is effecting my running, which it is, but everyone can see that he is just super jealous.

my question is, is he really aloud to tell me that i cant work out anymore!?!

No. As a matter of fact, he should be happy his soldier is getting bigger and stronger. Better PT scores for you look better on him. The question is how much is it effecting your running? Are you talking a little higher times or failing the run? If you're failing the run then yeah, he can try to get you back in running shape. If you're still doing decent then no, he really has no right. I'd have killed to have my soldiers in the gym lifting consistently. Most would barely do the minimum standard.

Really! I would say no to that, quickly! Just work on your running/cardio, and then have him jealous of you for another reason...That's some bs! I see meat heads everyday in the gym, I never see them do legs, but their upper body is big. Most of them even work out in their uniforms...

No he can't. Ask him to show you in black and white where you can't work out. I am a soldier too and sounds like you sl is being a douche and violating the nco creed. He isn't allowed to manage your personal life or your fitness as long as you meet army standards. If he keeps this crap up ask to speak to your 1sg, that doesn't work call ig. If you need help send me a pm I will help you ny brother ad this toxic leadership is what pisses me off as a leader.

As long as you're meeting Army fitness standards, I don't see why he's giving you such a hard time. Anybody else who's in the military knows, if you start offering passive resistance, they'll make your life hell. Good luck.

What else have you done to tick off this guy?

Often it doesn't take much. I served in the Navy for five years and didn't go to Captain's Mast (your NJP, right?) until after year four -- pissed off a chief petty officer.

My two cents? Don't go over the guy's head (I've never seen an upside to circumventing the chain of command) but don't stop lifting either. lol

Work on your running and lift off base if necessary. Buy the sergeant a case of his favorite beer.

sounds like your squad leader is one of the recent "out of the closet" soldiers. Your improving your body, God forbid someone would want to be in shape. Tell him to go get in Private fat fucks business and get out of yours.

Shit, your squad leader? If you platoon or company commander said that it would hold some merit. But your squad leader? If he makes an issue out it anymore, challenge him to a one on one PT off...if they still let you guys do do that.

Crazyotter: http://www.ironmagazineforums.com/members/68707.html was able to run a perfect Marine Corps pft at nearly 240lbs. I don't see why they would have a problem with lifting.

He can eat a dick. Sounds like a douche that got promoted to SGT because he was good at giving head. Your run is perfectly acceptable. I could forget to take a shit and fluctuate a minute on my run. If you're getting 100 and 100 and he's complaining then he's an idiot. Although it is an awkward situation for you because you are forced to deal with him on a daily basis.

It was always funny in the military once an individual made e-5, they turned into a cock eating dipshit that suddenly believed they were worth a shit.

I noticed that trend too. Guys I'd went out to the bars and tag teamed chicks with while on a handful of x tabs would suddenly be Master at Arms goons watching me piss in a cup, suddenly too good to hang out anymore. The types who were screaming FTN and grew their hair as long as they could within regulation to avoid looking military while in civies now have a flat top and wear the ships cap with their 2 chevron pin stuck on the front and QM2, RM2 or whatever embroidered on the back... At least my best friend didn't change when he made E-5 and let me stay at his Housing Allowance Paid for apartment. That was a good year living in Waikiki rent free, ship in dry dock most of that year, lots of days off...
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

Yeah man I hated that shit. I made a promise to myself that when I got promoted to SGT I would never act like those idiots. I snorted enough blow and dropped enough X to kill a horse, who am I to act all fucking high and mighty? I couldn't stand when dudes did that. Another reason that other NCOs troops would come to me if they had problems.
