VIDEO: SNL cold open pokes fun at racial firestorm around Knicks guard
Saturday Night Live crossed into sports once again, talking "Linsanity" with this week's cold open.
Weeks after its controversial sketch about Jesus visiting Tim Tebow in the Broncos locker room, the long-running comedy took on New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin, poking fun at the puns used on his last name and spouting racial stereotypes, one after another.
The opening mentions the recent firestorms created by ESPN.com's racially insensitive headline that ran after the Knicks seven-game winning streak ended on Friday night and a sexually-charged tweet by sports columnist Jason Whitlock.
