    Meningitis vaccine....

    So I'm going back to school to finish (have 80 ours towards a bachelors),
    and one thing I encountered is this meningitis vaccine bullshit.

    Apparently, within the last couple years in Texas, a law was passed
    requiring anyone under the age of 30 must get the vaccine shot for type c.

    What do you think about this?
    Any stories?

    I hate the thought of getting vaccinated.

    The statistics say that since this law was introduced, some 13million have had it. 4,700 had "adverse effects" and 8 died.

    Now, I know those stats are pretty low compared to 13million but still....
    I'm no manwhore (these days) so why the hell would I want to get a killer virus/bacteria injected into me???

    Possibly due to the reason why most of the other vaccines are pushed...MONEY.

    On a serious note, I think I read somewhere that meningitis was or still is prevalent on college campuses. I believe that the transmission is commonly seen in those students who stay in dorms and use the shower rooms.

    (This is going off of memory, so I might be a little off!)

    Yea, see I've lived in the dorms already, been through all this.

    I don't understand why I have to get the shot if I am 24 years old and just need to finish 2-3 semesters.

    Rick Perry is a big pharma whore. I believe he signed a law requiring all females to be given gardasil (hpv vaccine) as well.

    You can refuse vaccines, my brother is a paramedic and he refuses to get flu shots and all other extra vaccines they try and push on him. I also do not like all these new vaccines they keep forcing on people.

    According to the website, you can only refuse for "religious purposes"...

    Talk with the advisors of the institution. If its required for a specific program, you might be SOL.

    I had to get an anthrax vaccine in the Navy before we went on deployment to the Persian Gulf, I was weary about getting it, then in the end I thought what doesn't kill me will only make me stronger... Most college kids are more likely to die from alcohol poisoning or drunk driving than brain bacteria...
