    Question What do you think?

Seeing as we're spending nearly $100 billion to free the Iraqi people don't you think that the US deserves a huge discount on Iraqi oil for the next 10 years?

I was just thinking about this after seeing on the news today how their oil lines and wells are no back in production.

I'm not in the position to complain about the price of gas... that is until my wells run dry

Ummmm...................Purely acting as the devil's advocate here, wouldn't that just support all the assholes who've been screaming about the war being over nothing but oil?

    I say No!

We went into this war on our own free will. Nobody asked us to so why should the Iraqi people forfeit their money? JMHO

We've spent OUR money to liberate Iraq and put them in a position to set up a new government. I think at least a discount on oil is in order until we get back some of our losses. Countries that did NOT support the regime change should be charged full price.

How about we hire American companies to do the reconstruction and charge the countries that didn't support us? Our economy gets a boost, the loser assholes get punished, the anit-war protesters get nothing to bitch about and the Iraqi economy gets a jump start with the oil money rolling in. Any losers in that equation...............................besides France, Germany and Russia?

I am not saying that we demand a discount, I guess I just think it would be "right" for the new Iraqi government to recognize what the US did for them and try to repay us.

They would not be losing any money, I just said a "discount" on oil.

I wouldn't say we should get a discount.... I'd say we trade, dollar for dollar, Work for Oil. We spend a billion in work they give us a billion in Oil.

    joking aside,

I think that we should get first shot at the oil but pay fair market value.

I also don't think that France should get a drop of it. If they do, they should be charged double.

    No I don`t...

All countries of the coalition have spent money liberating the people, not only the US, and add the the fact that the US have also SOLELY gotten $850mil worth of contracts so far, already makes many of the countries that fought along side wonder what the fuck is going on.
