Question What do you do for a living?

I want to learn more about my friends here. If you don't wanna say what'cha do that is fine, but I would love to hear what everyone does for a living. If you don't work...then tell us what you do or what is important to you.

I'm a full time Personal Trainer (which I love) and occasionally get paid to model. I'm glad I finally found Personal Training cause before I was all over the place and didn't know WTF I wanted to do (only took till I was 30 ). Before PTing, I was a Professional Painter, which I still like to do, but more as a hobby or occasional work, cause it's hard work

I'm also a Mom

I am a Human Resources/Payroll System Administrator (PeopleSoft). Basically, I spend 40-50 hours a week making sure the system works the way it's supposed to. Not the most exciting job, but it pays well and I enjoy it, not to mention the rediculous amount of time off they give me (something like four weeks and I've only been here a year).

Hey, my master's degree was in human resources. The only payroll software I came across was ADP, not heavily involved though

I've used a couple of ADP systems. Very similar to PeopleSoft.

If you've got an MBA in HR, what exactly does a "Contract Recruiter" do?

I do everything from sourcing, screening resumes to filter unqualified candidates, all the way to preparing offers and different compensation plans..

But unfortunately, I am not full-time, I am still under contract

AH! You're a recruiter who is working under contract! I was thinking that a "contract recruiter" was some kind of sales position or something. You know, like maybe you went out and tried to get hospitals or something to sign pharmaceutical contracts with your company or some shit.

and I was wondering why you were surprised that I am a recruiter with an educational background in human resources..
