    NFL needs a change!

NFL, You are all a joke! When I say that you're a joke it's by letting the players run around and do what FUCK they want. They sign a contract.....meaning you have the right to have that player to do anything you tell them to. NFL, you need to treat these kids like Soldiers! If they don't want the NFL and owners in their personal life off the field, release them stop paying them or put them FUCK'S on extra duty....LOL! I am so sick and tired of society putting athletes above the laws and the NFL's regulations. I don't feel bad for the player that died at 25!!!! He was old enough to hire a driver to drive his rich ass around for the night, which would have kept his ass from being buried. As for the guy driving keep his ass in jail for life. This was not the first time he was caught up on a DUI. He killed his friend and team mate plane and simple!

Maybe it's just me and my Military background that seems to be an easy fix???? Feedback guys/gals what are your thoughts?????

I don't know...I think everyone, excluding the young, understand that these guys are adults... If they get in trouble with the law, or personal issues or whatever; well they are grown ass men. The youth may not understand it but they don't pay the adverters there dollars either so...
I feel for the family of the guy to died as well as the guy who was driving...clearly this is not a violent crime and neither would have predicted the outcome. Two young dudes went out drinking and bad shit happened. Happens everyday.
When I watch the nfl I want to see big plays, exciting games, people getting laid out. I want the best athletes out there. I don't care if they are married to supermodels and having babies, or having psychological issues and killing themselves, getting in trouble for drugs and booze, juicing until there liver pops, reality tv, tweeter mishaps... I simply don't care. I want to see action if I get it, I'm happy.

I agree, at this point they should be able to function as normal members of society. I really don't care what happens to the NFL. I don't watch it.

it's the people that put athletes, musician and celebrity's, etc. in general up on a pedestal. there's nothing special about any of them. having talent doesn't make you special it only makes you better at performing certain tasks.

now if your able to leap tall buildings in a single bound and stop a bullet with your skin...your special

Considering that there are over 1,500 players in the NFL and that a high percentage of them come from rough backgrounds, I would say they are doing pretty damn good keeping out of trouble. Do you honestly think that 1,500+ servicemen don't cause more trouble? Check the DUI, domestic violence, etc., rates for the military, then multiply that by 10 since the military is the king of sweeping shit under the rug and not reporting it.

Last season 37 players out of all the NFL were arrested. 37/1640=2.3%, national average is over 4% so it seems like they are doing way better than the rest of us and the rest of us sure as hell don't have the same amount of money or fame.

Clear proof that Americans are mindless, zombie retards. Worrying about what a bunch of Millionaires do with themselves means you have been brainwashed by "reality TV". Who gives a shit? Fiscal cliff anyone? WWIII? Ya know...pertinent things?

No people are brainwashed by devices that provide social media, iphones, pads, etc.

And reality TV is not real at all. Producers, directors, and writers have plenty of say so.

This was nothing like that, just a mentally unstable dunce who happened to play pro ball.

I quit watching professional sports in 1981 when MLB went on strike, it was a wrap for me 31 years ago. since then I have watched zero pro sports events on tv by myself, the only time I watch them is when I'm subjected to them at a friends house, bar, etc.

It's not the money that bothers as me they are only trying to get their "fair" share as a percentage of the owners but it's mostly that I just don't give a fuck. it's like watching somebody exercise to me and that's no fun at all. playing sports to me is fun as hell, I'd rather read a book then watch another.

not many things on tv are "real" and for the past 50 years it has been used as a tool to turn a nation of fairly free thinkers into a nation of sheep and over-consumers.

If I had kids they wouldn't be allowed to watch tv for jack squat, just like my parents did to my sister and I.

Yeah as a Lions fan here's a change I want to see.

Here in Detroit the season is usually over by December. Each conference has 2 wild card teams. Make one wild card winner the team with the best record over the last 8 games. Then I have a reason to watch football in December again, along with fans in Cleveland and the other 12 or so teams that never do shit. This would make the whole season count.

It truly pleases me to know you don't mistake bodybuilding for a sport.

Its been said the American economy can rebound and be driven by the spending of those consumers.

But maybe that is a lie as well.

right now that is mathematically impossible as debt has fueled consumption for the past decades and that peaked in 2008 when the economy crashed.

out of the roughly 150M people in the US workforce today the top 20% or about 15M workers earn 70% of the total income with the remaining 135M workers earning the bottom 30%.

the US economy will get no better until inequality is reduced.

When you've invested that much money in someone you should have a little concern over how they abuse themselves, unless you have insurance that covers well over what they are worth on the field...

So then it is just a lie, mainly spewed by stubborn republicans and "conservative" media "contributors".
Those blowhard talking heads can be so annoying, demanding entitlement reform, while still being greedy.

Anyway, apologizes for going off topic, you folks may resume with the discussion of an incompetent NFL clowns.

The NFL doesn't guarantee contracts so when a player gets hurt, which will happen, the team doesn't lose their "investment". The team just pays for the player's services up until the point he can't play anymore. You're argument would be very valid in the NBA though, where contracts tend to be guaranteed and if a player does something stupid and hurts himself, the team might still have to pay up (even though most contracts will list certain behavior you should not engage in).

Still an investment if you took that one player as a first round draft pick over 2 or 3 third-fifth rnd picks who behave themselves and can still offer several years of hard game time....
