No one's perfect, Swiper. Even the CIC will **** up.

Doesn't make it good, doesn't make it right, but anyone who signs an enlistment contract or has been commissioned knows full well that **** indeed happens. :-(

No i agree with you on that Curt, every one who serves should be willing to give their live while serving. If you are unwilling to make that sacrifice the service is not for you. Unfortunately our chain of command is by far not perfect and that is where service members need to make the decision to reenlist or get out. If your reenlist under the knowledge of what is going on then you by far accept the circumstances. It pisses me off the decisions that have been made for the service members and what bull shit we go through, but in reality we all sign that contract.

Ah yes, the seasonal smoke screen.

A couple of months from now they'll be saying, we're cutting your soc. sec. and reducing your Va pay...

They have been doing that all ready with giving no annual pay increases, reducing promotion %'s, separating military members for no reason what so ever other then a computer based program that is used to optimize "manning" which means deduce the defence budget. Its sad because people do not realize that the first thing to go in the military are the people in a defence budget reduction. I have heard people on here say well its happening every where they can get other jobs. That is not how you treat a 10-15 year vet all most to retirement. It would be like any civilian that is close to retirement fired because the boss wants to save money.

The way we treat our vets sickens me. I have been waiting over a year for my VA claim and still can not get my prescription filled because I can not get an appointment or go in to talk about PTSD. I am just thankful my church gives free counselling to vets and puts us first. I have to say my local community is on point with the vets but the federal gov't has no clue what so ever, and this is who every one voted for to be in power. As citizens we are losing more rights and power every year with in this country and it is sad. People would rather have the gov't make decisions for them selves then go out and live a free life.

that all started in the 80's when the bennies of Vietnam vets were cut. the money is being diverted to the private sector and military contractors. even the military is falling victim to the over-privitization of the US

He can thank me by resigning. I will not even begrudge him his retirement in Hawaii in the big assed house bought with tax payer and graft dollars.

There is a difference in reducing recruiting efforts and makes fake programs that are told it separates the under performing. When I was active I was the reserve prior service recruiter for NAS Lemoore for 3 years. I watched sailors with 15 years of service and outstanding performers. If their are any Navy guys in here I am talking about evals with 4.29-4.50 evals of E6's who made board. To be separated and sent home. No where in military history did they ever down size at the ranks of E5 and E6 and take away retirement. In the past they would only no allow first term service members not to re enlist, not a sailor who is on his 4th term in the military and preparing for retirement.

The one that drove me crazy was the Navy separated the base sailor of the year year a YN1 who later they found out would have made chief if he was not separated, due to this stupid budget cut in Defence. The private sector is fucking horrible over paid and lazy. Very few of them are worth a dollar.

the privatization of goods and services consolidates capital and political power in the hands of the few which is exactly how the oligarchy is formed.
