More recently, Sullaway and Dunbar used a prejudice rating scale to assess and describe levels of prejudice.3 They found associations between highly prejudiced people and other indicators of psychopathology. The subtype at the extreme end of their scale is a paranoid/delusional prejudice disorder.

Using the DSM's structure of diagnostic criteria for delusional disorder,4(p329) I suggest the following subtype:

Prejudice type: A delusion whose theme is that a group of individuals, who share a defining characteristic, in one's environment have a particular and unusual significance. These delusions are usually of a negative or pejorative nature, but also may be grandiose in content. When these delusions are extreme, the person may act out by attempting to harm, and even murder, members of the despised group(s).

Extreme racist delusions can also occur as a major symptom in other psychotic disorders, such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Persons suffering delusions usually have serious social dysfunction that impairs their ability to work with others and maintain employment.

As a clinical psychiatrist, I have treated several patients who projected their own unacceptable behavior and fears onto ethnic minorities, scapegoating them for society's problems. Their strong racist feelings, which were tied to fixed belief systems impervious to reality checks, were symptoms of serious mental dysfunction. When these patients became more aware of their own problems, they grew less paranoid?and less prejudiced.

It is time for the American Psychiatric Association to designate extreme racism as a mental health problem by recognizing it as a delusional psychotic symptom. Persons afflicted with such psychopathology represent an immediate danger to themselves and others. Clinicians need guidelines for recognizing delusional racism in all its forms so that they can provide appropriate treatment. Otherwise, extreme delusional racists will continue to fall through the cracks of the mental health system, and we can expect more of them to explode and act out their deadly delusions."

FBI data shows that 323 murders were committed with rifles of any kind in 2011. In comparison, 496 murders were commited with hammers and clubs, and 1,694 murders were perpetrated with knives.

Keep in mind it's not a 100% blanket. There are some Japanese individuals I don't like and some blacks that I do, but it's a general rule for dealing with the given races.

I never got that impression about DOMS at all, and i've been reading his posts for quite a few years now. I think you are projecting because you make everything about race, and if someone disagrees with you it's because they are racist. it's not that. they disagree with you because you are wrong. You read a lot, you are apparently educated, and yet you consistently come to the wrong conclusions. just like your conclusion that DOMS is pro KKK. eh, go figure

My understanding of racism is that it's a fundamental belief that a persons personality/intelligence/morals are determined by skin color. You're just pointing out that black American culture is fucked up, but not all blacks are bad.

I usually catch shit for trying to differentiate between racism and prejudice, which isn't really a big deal. But it also tends to muddy an argument, so I just bypass it by accepting the label of racist.

DOMS "your" facts are certainly not even close to objective nor do they hold to be true even outside of the US.

blacks and hispanics make up the largest offenders of street crime, etc. in the US which they clearly do. they also comprise the largest percentage of those in the lowest income quintiles. study after study has shown inside and outside the US that street crimes are a function of concentrated rural poverty and not that of race. country's that do not have multicultural diversity in their populations also show that those in the lowest income quintiles commit the vast majority of street crimes, etc. clearly objective evidence that proves street crime has nothing at all to do with race/ethnicity.

country's that have much lower levels of street crime and poverty also spend substantially more on social protections then the US which spends the 3rd lowest amount as a percentage of GDP in the OECD. they also have lower levels of low paid workers in the lowest income quintile. aka..they have lower levels of concentrated rural poverty, hence lower levels of street crimes. on the other hand the US has the highest percentage of low paid workers out of all the wealthy industrialized country's in the OECD at 25% of the total labor force.

over the years latin american country's have reduced violent crime by increasing wages. in PR when the Navy bases were closed years ago and the economy went to shit, do you know what happened crime increased.

wow..who would have thought that there is a clear direct correlation between street crime and income....
