I voted neither republican nor democratic because I'm not a moron.
If gunners were as violent as anti-gunners believe, logically there wouldn't be any anti-gunners left.

has nothing to do with my vote but there is no such fucking thing as a real snowstorm in maine anymore. i have lived here almost all of my 51 years and the winters never develop past what used to be a normal november anymore. we never get more than a few inches of snow when we used to get feet. no snowmen, no snowforts... it's stupid to deny things are changing. you can argue all you want about the cause but the change is real. and btw.... you CAN get pregnant from rape too.

Where the shells petrified? Millions of years ago there used to a be a large, shallow, inland sea that covered much of what is now California and some of Nevada. I believe it's why Las Vegas sits on a bed of caliche (the shit is like concrete). There was also the Western Interior Seaway, but that was mid-continent. And in the Wasatch mountains above Salt Lake City, you can see the delineating line where an inland sea met the ancient land.
I remember growing up in LA, where it used to rain all month long in April. I loved it. It was so very relaxing. Plus, that dirty bird needs a cleaning at least once a year.
You can have my snow. We usually only get an inch or so each season (it melts by noon, most times). This year we've gotten over a foot.

The only thing you can count on is change. This world is constantly changing but we dont live long enough usually to see it. And more importantly we have not been keep records long enough to know if man in influencing the changes or if its just part of a longer cycle... I kind of doubt we have no affect on things but I'm skeptical that we are destroying the planet either. I think its all part of the eleite's in control, trying to warm us up to the idea of overpopulation, so were not freaking out when they decide to depopulate the place. (oh we need less people because if we don't then global warming will speed up and kill us all, so lets kill a few million people... ok, great idea, i'll go get my gun!)
I'll get there or Die trying...

I do not deny that things are changing. For eons the Earth has gone through periods of warming and cooling. My only doubts come from politicians trying to exploit a natural phenomenon by guilting people into using the light bulbs they choose. We didnt start the world warming and we cant stop it. All in all i prefer this to an ice age but im one of those selfish radical libertarian freedom lovers who enjoys the beach.

Global warming caused by or sped up by us I care not, but what I do care about is energy independence, you want to stop buying oil from nations who would love to slit our collective throats, then you'll get that Prius or at least a more fuel efficient car, you'll change those light bulbs. We'll save those untapped resources where the freckled butted jackalope lives until we exhaust the worlds supply, then we'll price gouge the fuck out of it, sell it to unprepared nations and use those funds to convert ourselves to complete alternatives like livestock farts, and utilize the nuclear fusion reactor that is our god, the creator of our lives. Unless we find fossil fuels on the moon its inevitable that alternative energy is our future, might as well practice now. Why? Because we still have huge breakthroughs to make in that field of science and they will only come in time, photovoltaics are almost the same as advancements in microprocessors, same material silicon and almost the same timeline in efficiency, about 3-6 months we get slightly more power from individual cells. Of course other materials are being experimented with, but poly silicon is still our best bet for abundance and cost. Concetrated Solar power is another promising tech that will aid in our sundown storage issue, as well as pumped water/ hydro power turbines(using water pumped up a hill or mountain during peak wind/solar output and then draining it back downhill through hydro-turbine generators during windless /cloudy/ nighttime conditions) [Also in flatter coastal areas they can setup a manmade lagoon area in deeper ocean water and void the lagoon in plentiful power times and allow the ocean to refill the void while using the inrush of water to power hydroturbines.]
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

That is called fulgurite. It is glass made by lightning hitting the sand. I know a spot where there a lots of those. It is not easy to get to and it is pretty much on top of a mountain peak in the Catalina Mountains just west of me. Only problem is they usually break by the time you get down and the forest service cops will throw in jail if caught with one.

i say huge because we'd be talking large bird for it to be what it looks like but it really doesn't look like a fulgurite. it's very smooth and looks very mush like it once was splattered against the earth. unfortunately it was stolen by one of my daughters little kleptomaniac friends so i can't post a picture. funnily enough, to dig for fulgurites you look for something that looks like this
the rock i found was on the surface of the desert.
