At least three people were shot at an office complex in Phoenix on Wednesday, police there say, and a manhunt for the shooter is under way.
The building was evacuated and the suspect fled the scene, Sgt. Tommy Thompson said. The shooting--which occurred in the building's lobby--does not appear to be random act, Thompson said, though he would not say if the suspect knew the victims. Witnesses say they heard as many as 10 gunshots fired.
Three victims were transferred to John C. Lincoln Hospital with gunshot wounds, he said. Their conditions were not immediately known, but according to Phoenix's NBC affiliate, one was in "extremely critical condition."
At least three other people were transported to the hospital with minor injuries related to the shooting.
A SWAT team began canvasing a neighborhood in search of the suspected shooter described by Thompson as an "older" white male, possibly in his 60s.
?At this point we don?t believe he is in the area,? Thompson said. ?This doesn?t appear to be a random type of incident.?
The shooting occurred on the same day former Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords--who was shot in the head during a mass shooting in Tuscon in 2011--testified at a Senate hearing on gun violence.
"Speaking is difficult but I need to say something important," Giffords said at the top of the hearing. "Violence is a big problem. Too many children are dying. Too many children. We must do something. It will be hard, but the time is now. You must act. Be bold, be courageous, Americans are counting on you."

As Congress holds a much-anticipated hearing on gun control, there was a disturbing reminder that gun violence in America never takes a break. It's been reported that Hadiya Pendleton, a 15-year-old girl from Chicago, was gunned down on Tuesday, just days after she performed with her school band at President Obama's inauguration. Pendleton ? an honors student, volleyball player, and majorette at King College Prep ? was shot at a park just blocks away from her school.
According to reports, Pendleton was among 12 teenagers who had taken shelter from the rain under a canopy in Vivian Gordon Harsh Park. An unidentified gunman then jumped the park's fence and allegedly opened fire. In addition to Pendleton, who later died from her wounds, a teenage boy was shot and is currently in serious condition at the hospital.

Details of the incident remain unclear, though initial reports suggest that Pendleton was not the primary target of the attack.
Since the school massacre in Newtown, Connecticut, in December, more than 1,400 people have been killed in gun violence across the country.

his week, state lawmakers in Hartford, Conn., held hearings about last month's school massacre in Newtown. It was a tense affair that included passionate advocates on both sides of the gun control debate. And one incident in particular caught the attention of national and international media outlets, in which Neil Heslin, the father of a 6-year-old boy killed in the shooting, was "heckled" by gun supporters as he pleaded for the government to ban assault weapons and high-capacity clips, according to a headline in the Connecticut Post.
The story went viral ? with news outlets fixating, crucially, on the word "heckled" ? and was essentially held up as evidence of the callousness and rabid fanaticism of certain gun enthusiasts. Piers Morgan of CNN, for example, described it as "sickening."
The problem is that Heslin wasn't really heckled. The Connecticut Post seems to have exaggerated what happened, since video of the incident shows that Heslin asked a question, waited for a response, and received one. He wasn't interrupted or badgered. According to the video (watch it below, starting at the 15:00 minute mark), the exchange went like this:
Heslin: Is there anybody in this room that can give me one reason or challenge this question, why anybody in this room needs to have one of these assault-style weapons or military weapons or high-capacity clips? [Pause. Heslin looks around the room as if waiting for a response.] And not one person can answer that question or give me an answer.
Audience members: [unintelligible] The Second Amendment shall not be infringed.
Heslin: Alright.
Lawmaker: Please no comments while Mr. Heslin is speaking. Or we'll clear the room. Mr. Heslin please continue.
Heslin: Anyway, we're all entitled to our own opinion and I respect their opinions and their thoughts. I wish they'd respect mine and give it a little bit of thought, and realize it could have been their child that could have been in that school that day.
Heslin has made some eminently reasonable points. And they stand up well enough on their own without news outlets turning his opponents into a brutish mob.

In the youtube Video the ALLEGED "heckling" that Piors Morgan Described as "sickening" happens about the 15:38 minute mark, And the crowds reaction was in response to Mr Heslin asking a question to the audience.

When I was in Jr High School two students beat , raped and killed the librarian with a baseball bat. Both sentenced to life. Mike Saxton paroled in 1986

Saxton then was convicted of second-degree murder and received a sentence of 20 to 40 years in prison. He won parole as a reward for good behavior in 1986. In November 1990, he was released from any state supervision and ordered never to live in Muskegon.
